"Peace out!" Teagan screams, while holding up two fingers.
"Bye!" I say, while leaving her apartement. And then it strikes me. The selfie.
"Wait!" I cry, in desperation. She pauses and looks at me. "The selfie." I say and immediatley she understands. I take out my brand new iPhone that Liza got me when we went to the mall to shop for clothes and other things.
"Ok so we've got everything else except clothes and devices. We need to get you some cute shorts for the summer, some nice jeans for casual days, some plain tee's, some patterned tee's, some skirts, and all those other things. You also need a phone and a camera." Liza lists"A camera?! For what?" I ask. "Well," she starts as if the answer is obvious," If you are going to be living with a YouTuber, you are bound to want to start your own YouTube channel, you big dum-dum."
Teagan and I have this tradition where everytime we see each other, we take a selfie and when we are parting, we take another selfie.
We quickly make silly faces and I snap the photo. "Bye now!" "Bye!" On my way out, I start to scroll through my apps to find the Instagram app so I can post the picture with the #bestie tag when I recieve a FaceTime call from Taylor! I quickly pick it up, only to be deafened.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
"IT'S YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"IT'S ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"So gurl, how have things been going? Did you get adopted?" I ask, hoping for some good news.
"OK, I guess, and no. I didn't get adopted but I did get a phone from one of the people who came to visit. I guess they felt bad for me because I was the oldest in the orphanage. Oh well." Taylor says sadly. "How about you?"
"Things have been good. I'm doing good. Missing you.."
"Aww, I miss you too! And that reminds me. Who is that girl you have been posting pictures with all over instagram with the #bestie?"
"Oh, she's my super cool friend Teagan." I say, " We have so much fun together and she lives just down the hallway from me! How cool is that. The first day we met, we had tea together and then-"
"I thought I was your bestie?!" Taylor says, anger and jealousy evident in her voice, taking me aback.
"Y-Yeah, you definitely are! Why would you think otherwise?" I question.
"Oh, I dunno, maybe because you have been using the #bestie ever since. What am I supposed to think, Aurelie?! You are obviously having a better time with her than you ever had with me!"
"Of course I am! How much fun could we have in an orphanage?! I never said you were my bestie- I said you were my sister. I don't really understand why you are jealous of Teagan! She is nice and fun and you guys would get along so I don't really know what to say to you anymore. Bye, Taylor."
And with that, I end the call. I don't have time to talk to jealous people when I could be smiling and chatting and giggling with my mom. I walk down the hallway and try to open the door but it doesn't budge. Ugh, it's locked.
"LIZA!!" I shout repeatedly but to answer. I wonder where she's gone off to. Oh well, since I cannot enter my home, I would be happy to pass my time at Teagan's. I make the journey back down the hallway and stop at Teagan's door. "TEAGAN!!!!!!" I cry while opening the door. I see Teagan transfixed to the TV in the cozy living room.
"Teagan." I say but she doesn't seem to hear. "Teagan." I try again but she still doesn't answer. "TEAGAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I scream and that seems to snap her out of it.
"Oh, hello! You're back! Already!" she cries in shock and happiness.
"Yup, Liza went somewhere and locked the door and I don't have my key so I can't enter my house so guess where I am?"
