Kennedy has never been satisfied with her life. She loves her friends, but hates the way they make her feel like she has to act a certain way. She feels trapped.

Enter Ivory, a soft spoken girl who's earphones are glued in her ears. She blocks out the world with her music. Never the type to care what others think about her, and one who enjoys being alone, she's never had many friends. She doesn't consider herself to be anyone special, but to Kennedy she offers an escape from the world she has created for herself.

Faced with heartbreak, betrayal and dishonesty, Kennedy and Ivory will have to fight to stay above the surface in the dangerous waters of high school.
