You sat down at your table with plates and drinks and he opened up the hot wings and you took some. You both began to eat and he smiled at you with mouth full and you just began laughing. Sebastian swallowed his food and opened his mouth to speak.
"So i was thinking...fourth of July is just around the corner and we like need to do some epically fun things," he said with a grin.
"Oh yeah...I totally forgot...what do you want to do?" you asked.
"I'm not sure yet but i have a few days to think about it. I can't believe tomorrow is July already. This summer is flying by," he said.
"Oh wow it is...but it seemed to fly by even faster as a kid," you pointed out.
"That is very true...those were the good old days," he said wistfully.
"The good old days...?" you asked with raised eyebrows.
"Yeah...when we didn't have to worry about jobs and taxes and finances and everything," he said.
"That is very true..." you said, thinking back to when you were a kid.
"Hey wait..." you began, "Do you remember that one summer...i think it was right after sophomore year...when we went to see fireworks for fourth of july-"
"(y/n)...we saw fireworks every year," he interrupted.
"no...i mean the time when we had to wait in the car for three hours because there were so many people...and neither of us got home until like 1 in the morning?" you finished.
"Oh yeah...now that was an interesting night," he said smiling.
"And how you were the one driving me and the only thing we could think of doing to pass the time was blast the music and sing so loudly that a random guy walked up to our car and asked us to turn it down?" you continued.
"oh yeah yeah i remember that," Sebastian said smiling at the memory.
"We never went back to that place for fireworks ever again...even though it still was a great night," you said.
"Yeah...because i was with you," he said with a sweet smile, and you felt your heart skip a beat.
Had you heard him correctly?
The two of you stayed quiet for what felt like forever as you finished your wings.
You just couldn't get seb's words off your mind...had he really said it was great because he was with you?
he probably meant it in a friendly way...he never seemed to think of you as more than that-- "Whatcha thinking about?" Seb asked, interrupting your thoughts and catching you off guard.
"Um," you stammered. "Just about what we could do on the fourth," you lied.
"Don't worry about that...i'll have it all planned out. Anyway..." Seb checked his phone for the time, "I heard that some good movies are playing at the drive-in...you wanna go?"
"Sure...when though?" you asked.
"Soon i think...we should probably get going," Sebastian said, getting to his feet.
You stood up too and you both threw away the trash and you grabbed your purse and followed seb out the door.
