I walked into the house & everything was as normal as usual.

"Oh you're home darling," Irene greeted me, "your dad wants to see you in his office."

"What's up?" I asked.

"I'm not really sure but he just told me to tell you to come see him immediately once you entered," she explained.

"Alright then," I nodded with consent & approached his office.

I opened the door slowly & saw Grayson sitting in the chair across from my father's chair.

"Kelly, honey. Come sit next to Grayson," he directed & I followed.

"Do you know why I called you here today sweetheart?" my dad asked.

"No sir," I shook my head.

"Because Grayson here, wants to resign," he explained & I shot him a look.

He just admitted his feelings for me & now he wants to leave? What the hell.

"Can you tell my daughter why you want to resign Mr Dolan. The exact words you said to me," he crossed his arms.

"Sir the reason why I want to resign from my position as Miss Richardson's bodyguard is because I have come to the realisation that my suited position would be a disruption to my emotional connection to her," he stated.

"So you like my daughter?" my dad asked.

"Very much sir," he nodded graciously.

"Do you really think that you having feelings for my daughter will disrupt your work?" my dad asked.

"Yes sir. I want to fulfill my duties to the fullest of my ability," he explained.

"Grayson, son, let me tell you a story," my dad began. Now he was kicking into his old self. Mr President was stripped down.

"When I first met Kelly's mother back in high school, she was actually getting bullied by multiple boys & girls at our school. Now my parents told me to actually try & stand up for her when I saw it happen since her parents were good friends with mine. So I did do so. I would never ever think of disrespecting my father back in the day. Now every time I saw she was getting picked on, I would step in & try my best to stop it. But during that stepping in, I saw her eyes Grayson, I saw her eyes & even in fear they still seemed beautiful. I then realised that I was in love with her & I never wanted to see those eyes of fear ever again. I haven't left her side since. So maybe affection makes the job better if I say so myself. Because when I realised I love her I did what it took to actually make sure Delilah would never be hurt again," he explained with a gracious look.

"So I can keep my job sir?" he gawked.

"Of course son," my dad chuckled, "now you two crazy kids get going I've got calls to make."

Grayson & I both smiled as we left.

"Kelly," my dad said soundly.

"Yes dad," I responded.

"Secretly I've wanted you two to get as close as you are now. I'm glad someone heard my wishes," he smiled & I smiled too because my dad & I were finally getting along.
