PoV: Kaylee

It was August, two months since Megan had arrived and, Sparks, the last two months had been the weirdest and best if my life! Megan was so strange!
I'd kind of started to create a list in my head of her abnormalities.

For example,

She is crazy alert, like, notices everything

She is flawless with makeup and even better, she can do it quickly.

She's read many of my favourite books only once, yet remembers far more than I do.

She's clueless about fashion, but frequently points out clothes saying 'I wore something like that once.' or even, 'That dress style brings back bad memories.'

She also refuses to have her hair cut. I mean, she's fine for it to be trimmed, so it stays healthy, but cut? Nope.

She also wears a necklace that she never takes off. Not even when showering.

Despite those eccentricities, I really enjoyed my new sister. We had a ton of fun in those first few months.
Though as school was approaching fast, I was starting to freak out. She wasn't as nervous anymore except around strangers, and there are a lot of strangers at school.
I was trying to get her more comfortable in public and therefore was taking her sightseeing a lot.
Tonight we were at Spokane Falls, and, as usual, she was not very impressed.

"I mean, it's cool, but, I prefer Victoria Falls," Megan said thoughtfully.

"Victoria Falls? Where is that?"

"Oh, um, It's it's in Zimbabwe. Tata took me there once."

"He took you all over didn't he? So far you've mentioned him taking you to Paris, Hong Kong, Ontario, Berlin, Japan, and Brazil." I was constantly floored by all the places she'd been in her short life. And I was constantly confused if this 'Tata' was the previous foster parent of her's who had taught how to deduce people, or if that was someone else.

"He was quite the explorer." She explained. "So, where else are we heading tonight?"

"I was thinking we could head to the Saranac Public house. They have amazing mac and cheese."

"When's Mom expecting us home?" Megan asked, "I don't want a repeat of last week when you 'forgot' the time we needed to be home by and we stayed out till three." She made finger quotes as she said 'forgot'.

"Ok, I get the point," I said, rolling my eyes. "She wants us home by ten. An insanely early hour, but well, she is our mother."

Megan smirked. "Well, I'm hungry, and I can tell you are too, so can we get going?

"You know me too well," I said, grinning as I started to walk toward the main street.

That how our average Saturdays went. We hang at home for a bit, then we go sightseeing something or other. Then we have dinner and head home. It seemed to me that ever since Megan had arrived Mom was being very relaxed about our money. I'd tried to ask her about it and she always shrugged me off. She was definitely hiding something financially.
My other worries were that school was approaching fast and it seemed to me that Megan would be either too bold or too shy. I was hoping against hope that it would work out.
But my gut was saying that it would not be so.
