"What in the world are you doing here?" I frowned, my voice hard.
Lucas pushed himself right off the wall he was leaning on and advanced fast towards me. I took a quick, cautious step back. He flinched at that instinctual move.
"I wanted to talk," he started.
"I don't recall us having anything to talk about."
"Look Haley, I messed up, I really did. I shouldn't ever have let you go."
"You didn't. We ended because we sucked. That's all." I said, with firmness that surprised the both of us. Done with the conversation, I started walking away.
"Haley, please. I know I was a dick. I've hurt you so much. And that was the biggest mistake ever-"
I froze just a few steps away and took a deep breath. My chest started hurting as the memories started hurling themselves back to me. Despite that, it hurt to hear him sound so sorry.

- media end -My heart stopped the moment I checked my phone to see the last texts from Lucas. I definitely messed up again. My heart ran quickly and I paced around my room thinking of the right thing to say next.
I'm screwed, I'm screwed, I'm screwed. My head was spinning. What have I done?? I shouldn't have left my phone in my room. Or I should have at least came back sooner. My breaths quickened and hot tears threatened to spill. It's our fifth fight since three days back.
