I eventually woke up and looked around. Everything was blurry. I raised my hands to rub my eyes, only to realise they were paws. Somehow I had transformed into my wolf form. When my eyesight returned, I looked around again. I was in a basic cage, the kind you keep large animals in. Next to me was an older man in a larger cage playing cards, and in front of me were several people wearing similar outfits to Evan, whom I guessed were the hunters Mike mentioned, and Emma. I lunged at the bars in her direction like a rabid dog.
“Woah. Feisty,” said one of the hunters. I didn't care. I was so angry, I just wanted something to sink my teeth into. Literally. The hunters eventually left with Emma in tow, and I lay down, wanting to cry my eyes out.
“Hey hun.” said a voice next to me. I looked over and saw a guy, probably old enough to be my dad.
“What do you want?” I retorted. Probably not the best thing to say.
“No need to be like that. I only said hi.”
“Yeah, well, someone I considered a friend is the reason I'm here, so I think I'm entitled to be a little grumpy,” I replied.
“Ouch.”
“Yeah.”
“Well... I'm Shane. What's your name?” He asked.
“Rebecca.”
“I love that name.”
“Good for you,” I grumbled.
“So, apart from being betrayed, what else is going on?”
Before I could answer, I heard a tap-tap on a nearby window. I looked up and saw a hawk. It looked (and smelled) familiar. Then I heard a familiar voice, “Rebecca?”
I looked up, “Kira? Is that you?”
“Yeah. I saw you get kidnapped and I've been searching for which room you're in all day.”
“Well, I'm glad you're here now.”
“Me too. Where're your other friends? Maybe they can help get you out.”
“Probably still at the house close to were I was kidnapped.”
“Okay. See you in a bit,” she flew off before I could tell her what to look for.
“You're friends with a hawk?” asked Shane.
“She's a shapeshifter.”
“Ohhhh. That makes sense.”
I curled up and sighed, and I said nothing more.
Not much happened after that, so Evan is gonna describe his point of view.
Evan's Point of View
Okay, so after Rebecca left, Accalia and I spent some time chatting to Mike about his relationship with her.
“So we first met at a night club, and she kind of looked a little lonely, so I offered to dance with her, and things escalated from there.”
We continued talking until I heard tapping by one of the windows. I looked around and saw a hawk perched on my window sill, “You have to help Rebecca! She's been kidnapped by some by some hunters!” it said. At least I think it spoke.
“Umm... What?” I had no idea how to react, “Slow down a bit and maybe tell us who you are?”
“Fine. I'm Kira, I'm a shapeshifter. Rebecca's been kidnapped, and she needs your help.”
“Okay. Who kidnapped her?”
“I dunno. Some military guys who wear a similar outfit to you.”
“Crud.” That wasn't good news. I used to work with them.
Mike looked distraught, “We have to help her!”
“I know, but we're gonna have to come up with a rescue plan. The guys Kira described sound like hunters I used to work with. We can't just blast in and get Rebecca out.”
“So what do you have in mind?”
