Chapter 9

Chapter 9:

P.O.V Gray

We sat on the train opposite each other in silence. She wasn't even looking at me which made me feel even worse than before. We were on our way to the forest where we were going to look for some rare medical herbs. It was a simple job but it was the most peaceful job I could find, that way it will be easier for me to talk to her.

The entire journey went in slow motion. It was so awkward. I didn't know what to say so I didn't say anything at all, instead I just planned out what I would say later.

The train stopped and we got off and started walking towards the forest. Again, silence...

We entered the dark forest and started looking around for the herbs.

"s-so Juvia, find any yet?" really? I thought I was meant to be confessing to her right now. Begging for her forgiveness.

"Yes I found 4, we need 5 more right?"

"look, Juvia. About the date.... Well I didn't want to go home you know.. I was actually having fun, I'm just not that good at showing my feelings. I wanted to finish the date because at the end I was going to take you to the festival in town. It was going to be really fun. Anyway what I'm trying to say is..." before I could finish I was cut off as an arrow was shot, heading right towards Juvia.

I jumped forwards and pushed her down. My hands either side of her head, body in line with hers, staring into each others eyes. She looked shocked. So was I. I thought this was going to be a peaceful job, no fighting but I guess I was wrong. Damn, and to think I was about to say it without any problems.

I stand up facing our opponent who was standing about 20 feet away. The person wore a black cloak, covering their face, a bow and arrow on their back.

I got into a fighting position, waiting for them to make the first move.

Suddenly, the opponent grabs their bow and arrow and shoots the arrow towards me at lightning speed. Before it hits me I bloke it with my ice. "Juvia get back!" I shout to her as I run towards the enemy with my ice sword. If I get close then they can't use their bow and arrow, so let's see how they are with close combat.

I'm steps away from them and i lunge towards them slashing my swords at them. They duck and go to kick my side but I quickly put my sword to bloke them. After hitting the sword they jump back limping. Blood slid down their leg.

"why are you attacking us?" I asked the clocked person.

"If I win then you have to give me those medical herbs you have collected. If you win then I give you the ones I have collected. Deal?" it was a girl. I could tell by her voice.

So she is attacking us because she wants our herbs. She could of at least asked us before attacking us, jeez.

But I guess this could help us, if I win then we have completed our job.

"fine, I guess this is a quicker way to get the herbs we need." I grin, I love a good fight, especially if I can get a prize.

She grabs her bow and arrow again. This trick again? If it didn't work the first time then it's definitely not gonna work a second time. She releases the arrow and it flies towards me. I get ready to bloke it when it suddenly splits into 10 arrows! What the-?!?! I can't block all the arrows in time because they are coming from all different directions. I try to block as many as possible and wait for the pain of the others...

No pain...

What? I look for the arrows and realise they are trapped in water. Juvia saved me! I look behind to see Juvia standing there with an angry expression on her face.

"Juvia will not let anyone hurt gray-sama!"

Now that's the Juvia I know. I smile to myself before walking to Juvia. I look at her and grab her hand, pulling her towards me. Then we both shout, "UNISON RAID!!!"

The girls face showed shock and fear at our attack. It hit her and she flew back. She lay on the floor barely moving. The battle was over.

We walked over to her and i offer to help her up but she just slaps my hand away. "I don't need your help or your pity. Just take the herbs and leave me alone." she gets up and throws the herbs at Juvia, then walks away. I try to stop her and give the herbs back but I lose her in the forest.

"well should we head back since we have the herbs?" Juvia asks, taking a step back to town. Wait! I still need to tell her!

Without thinking I grab her hand and push her against a tree. I slowly bring my face closer to hers, giving her a chance to push me away if she wants me to stop. She doesn't do anything, doesn't even twitch. Then our lips met...
