I sat at my desk reading my book as I looked out the window from time to time. 'Ayanna' Emma called. Her lead boots, stomped their way up the stairs. I turned around in my seat just as she stopped at the frame of my door. 'Yes' I said. 'Could you help me put the baby squirrel back into his tree?' She asked, holding ropes over her shoulder. I nodded as my answer and bookmarked my page of my book. I tucked in my chair and followed Emma down the stair case. We got outside and walked to the tree that the baby squirrel falls out of everytime. Emma checked her watch and then held out her hand and the baby squirrel fell and landed on her hand. 'Enuoia, tie this rope around my waist' she instructed. I took the rope from her shoulder and wrapped it around her waist. Making sure it was secure, I pulled it tight and looked back up. 'Okay, make sure you hold on tight' she said. She bent down and unbuckled her lead boots and ascended to the squirrel's home. I held on tight and looked up to look at Emma. She pushed away and looked down, tugging on the rope. 'Pull me back down' she yelled. I pulled the rope down and until she was arm level from me, she put out her hand and reached for mine. I pull her down to her shoes and buckles them back on. She unties the rope and wraps it around her shoulder. 'Miss Peregrine bought you some books' Emma said as we walk back to the house 'oh good' I said. I don't show a lot of emotion around the children, mostly because I either lock myself behind closed doors reading books or practicing my abilities outside in the dark for my own satisfaction. 'I'll go and get them' she said running inside. She ran outside and as I made my way to the house.

I enter the kitchen and Emma comes back with four different types of books in her arms. 'Oh thank you Emma' I said, taking the books from her. 'It's okay, later today me and a couple of the children are going to look for Jacob, would you like to come?' she asked. 'Oh no it's okay' I said, forcing a smile to creep on my face. 'Are you sure?' She asked. 'Yeah, I'm not really in the mood for going outside today' I said. Emma sighed and smiled at me. I nodded and walked my way upstairs with my newly brought books in my hands. I walked up the stairs and bumped into Olive on the way up. 'Hey Ayanna' she said with a polite smile. 'Hello Olive' I said. I continued my way to my room and walked past Enoch's room. He left his door open a bit, enough to see what he was doing. I watched as he stuffed his animal organs into his own-made dolls. They began to move and within a few seconds, they began to fight. Enoch whispered something to the doll with the claw and it nodded back. Then they began to fight again except the doll with clawed hand stuck its claw into the chest of its opponent, taking nothing but its heart. I leaned too far forward that one of my books fell and slammed onto the ground making Enoch look up at the door. I quickly picked up my book and moved to my room before he could say or do anything. I make it to my room and as I close my door, I hear his door open.

I walk to my desk and put my glasses on and look at the books Miss Peregrine bought me. Two of them were about controlling my abilities and the other two were fairy tales I'm sure to love: Beauty and the Beast & Romeo and Juliet. I begin to read one of the books about controlling my abilities which has practices and exercises. Half way into the book and I start to practise some of the techniques. I stand my book up against the head of my bed and I grab a pillow and placed it in front of me. I read the practices as I do the actual thing. I lift my hands up at the pillow and the pillow started to levitate in mid air. I smiled and mentally patted myself on the back. I took a deep breathe and tried to move the pillow back to its original spot. I pushed my hands forward slightly, making the pillow move towards its original spot. I lowered my hands and the pillow slowly descended onto the bed. It landed softly and quietly. I turned to look at the door and tried to open it again. I lifted my hands towards the door and tried to move the door knob to the right. It jiggles left and right but it just wouldn't budge.

Someone knocked on my door lightly, making me jump on my bed. I quickly got off my bed and opened the door, only to find Enoch standing in front of me.
