Ella dashed upstairs, still riled up from her hot make out session with Parker. Without stopping when she reached her door; she ran straight to her brother’s room. Her heart thudded loudly as she thought about seeing Angie again.

 The sound of muffled cries broke her heart and all of her previous excitement dissipated. Without hesitating, Ella knocked at the door.

As soon as Xander opened it, she walked past him to the cot where Cher was desperately trying to calm Angie.

“Please, let me.” Ella requested and Cher was more than happy to oblige.

“I’m so sorry, Ella. I tried my best.” Cher cried. Xander was by her side in an instant.

“Cher, thank you so much, I wouldn’t trust Angie with anybody else. In fact, I’m sorry. I can only imagine how hard it must have been for you, but you still cared for her. Thank you so much.” Ella said softly, pouring gratitude into her words.

Cher’s eyes glistened with unshed tears at Ella’s words.

Truly, Parker could not have gotten a better mate, She thought.  

“Why don’t the two of you rest? There’s still time before the movie.” Ella said before leaving the couple to relax.

At last, Ella had Angie in her arms. It felt unbelievably good to have the baby with her. She felt that a part of her came back. Angie seemed more than happy, clinging on to Ella for dear life. She hadn’t been so calm and satisfied since Ella had left.

“I missed you so much, Angie. I’m so sorry I left you.” Ella said tucking Angie carefully against her chest while rocking her back and forth.

“Weren’t you happy with Cher and Xander?” Ella cooed as she stroked her back soothingly.

Angie gave Ella a toothless smile, her eyes shining with happiness and relief. Ella suddenly felt worried about when she would have to leave her again. It gnawed at her mind even when she decided to think about that later. Right now, Angie was with her.

Ella fed the critter, gave her a bath and played with Angie before putting her to bed. Angie was finally at peace since Ella was with her. Ella admired the tiny baby as she slept soundlessly in her arms. She couldn’t help but smile at the innocent expression on Angie’s face. It was very hard for Ella to imagine that she had caused so much trouble for everyone!

That’s how Parker found them; Ella sitting on the rocking chair and little Angie sleeping in her arms.

“She really missed you, didn’t she?” Parker asked Ella as she sat beside her, wrapping an arm around her.

“I missed her just as much.” Ella replied truthfully as she gazed at Parker.

For some strange reason, Ella felt more complete than she ever had. Parker felt it too and reveled in the feeling.

“I feel so…complete.” He said voicing his thoughts.

“Believe me when I tell you that I understand perfectly.” Ella smiled. Entranced by her perfection, Parker pressed his lips against hers gently.
