Nico's POV

As the fireworks came to an end, so did Leo and I. I could see tears starting to form in the son of Hephaestus' eyes when I said goodbye.

"Wait, Nico!" He called, "Why do you have to do this, don't you love me?"

"I'm sorry, I'll miss you, but I have to say goodbye," I told him, and with tears in my eyes, I went to my cabin.

I stayed awake until midnight, knife in my hand, debating on killing myself. Why does it hurt? I dumped him, so it shouldn't hurt! I set the knife on the table next to my bed and fell asleep. The next morning, I walked to breakfast alone. Later, at lunch, I sat alone. I did everything alone for the next week. Three years, I said to myself.

Three years alone,

Nobody to call home,

Your love will perish,

With nobody to cherish,

Apollo is cool.

The prophecy rang in my head. The tears stung my face, and I was glad I was alone. I cried, uncontrollably tears ran down my face.

It had only been a week, but my heart already ached. I longed to see Leo's sweet face. Every time I was alone, I would cry. I knew that the next three years would be a living hell.
