I didn't believe in fairy tales. To me, they were just bedtime stories that parents told their children to give them false hope in life. Animals didn't talk to us, giving us advice on how to rebel against wicked step- parents or evil witches down the road. Fairy Godmothers don't show up with beautiful clothes for you to win over the love of your life. Prince Charming just didn't exist, let alone love the lowly girl in the town. And what love really lasted forever?
I'm not saying I never believed in this stuff, because there was a point in my life when I had. I prayed for the day I would meet my Prince Charming and he would carry me away to live happily ever after. Once, I even thought I had found him.
