Several minutes after Kirosaki left, a strange girl appered out of the forest and approached the camp. She began rummaging through their belongings, not noticing James sleeping at the edge of the fire. That is until he began snoring again, startling the girl. She stared at him for a second trying to decide what she should do. Finally, she started to search for some rope, and when she found some she tied him up to make sure he couldn't move, and then she gagged him for good measure. She was shocked that throughout this endeavor he didn't wake once, but that was also a fact she was extremely thankful for. After he was secured, and she was sure he wasn't awake, she resumed her rummaging.
Kirosaki returned to the camp feeling triumphant because he caught something, even though that something turned out to just be two small rabbits. He walked to the edge of the fire and sat down, not really noticing the person sitting across from him. "You didn't sleep long did y-. Who are you?!" He said as he looked up finally noticing that it wasn't in fact James sitting across from him.
The first thing he noticed were the eyes, they were a strange silvery color, almost the same look as if you had polished a silver coin. Next he noticed the hair, it was long and black with a small braid on the front held together with strings that had feathers dangling from them. Underneath the hair he saw a pair of ears pointed like an elf's, he could see from her face that her skin was unusually pale for someone who obviously spends so much time outside. It was difficult to tell from a sitting position, but he estimated her height to be around five foot two inches. He also noticed a heavy looking staff a few feet away, he new instantly that she could take him down with that before he could blink. The last thing he noticed was the shocked expression on her face, obviously she had been expecting to see him about as much as he had been expecting to see her.
He glanced to the side to see James lying tied up, gagged, and surprisingly, still asleep. "Uuuh, so you wouldn't mind telling me what you did with my friend there would you?" Kirosaki asked making sure to be careful how he phrased things. He was still fully aware of that staff a few feet away.
"Ergriff sjek wux prove yth re ti irlymi" She responded warily.
"I'm sorry, what? I don't speak... whatever that was."
She sighed in frustration. "Only if you prove we are not enemies." She told him is the common tongue this time. Unnoticed to Kirosaki she was slowly inching her hand towards her staff.
"Well, you tied my friend up, so I think you need to prove that first." Kirosaki countered.
"I suppose you're right." She sighed. In the blink of an eye she was up and running with her staff and the sack of food she had stolen.
"Geeze, she's fast." Kirosaki grunted in surprise. He got up and sprinted over to James. Once he got there he cut the ropes tying James, and kicked him awake. "Come on, we've been robbed and we need to chase her down."
James rolled over groggily. "What?" He saw an indistinct figure running off in the distance, then he noticed Kirosaki running off after them yelling at James to hurry up. James was still tired, but he realized what was going on and got up as fast as he could. He was a little unsteady as he started running after the two rapidly retreating figures.
Kirosaki was silently thanking the fact that he was such a good hunter, if he wasn't, he would never have been able to keep up with the girl. "GET BACK HERE!" He yelled knowing it would be no use.
"Save your breath, it'll help you run longer." James told him as he suddenly caught up. Kirosaki glanced backwards in surprise.
"You caught up fast," He said. "Careful." He grabbed at James' arm as he stumbled.
"I'm okay, just waking up still. You're running really slow, so I'm going to go ahead and actually try to catch whoever we're running after." James picked up the pace. He decided to start running to the left to flank the girl.
As the girl was running, she glanced behind her to see how close her pursuer was. (She didn't yet know James was chasing her as well.) She became confident as she noticed that there was apparently no one behind her. Meanwhile, James was quickly getting ahead of her. Oh, I love having long legs he thought. Once he decided he was far enough ahead he started to cut back in front of her to wait.
Kirosaki was running as fast as could, but he wasn't fast enough. He started to lose sight of the girl, but he knew James was ahead so he couldn't give up the pursuit. Ahead of him the girl kept on running until out of nowhere James was there just standing there. His expression changed from one of confidence to shock as he realized that she caught up far quicker than he expected her to. She considered moving to go around him, but she was moving too fast and charged directly into him knocking them both to the ground. "Oooff" they both hit the ground hard enough to knock the breath out of them. James was the first to recover, as he rolled painfully to his feet he looked at his attacker. "Who are you, and why are you here?" He asked massaging his shoulder (when he landed his shoulder hit a tree root).
Kirosaki burst from the surrounding trees and tripped over a root in his attempt to avoid the two he had been chasing after. Fortunately, James caught him before he hit the ground. Unfortunately, Kirosaki's momentum was too much for James, and he took them both down instead. The girl watched this with growing amusement, she just stared for awhile as she watched the two friends argue about whether that should have worked or not. "You were moving too fast, I don't know why I thought I could catch you." "Nooo, you should have just been better at catching me instead." "Are you bei-"
"Enough you two, you argue like an old married couple." The girl interrupted. They both turn to her with shock and anger on their faces.
"Who are you to talk? You robbed us." Kirosaki demanded.
"Honestly I have no idea what's going on here," James added "All I know is I was sleeping, then we were chasing you. Now, I guess I know why."
Kirosaki turned to James "You really are dense, aren't you? I told you what was happening."
"In my defense, you had just woken me up. My side hurts because of that by the way." James complained.
"Well, who's fault is that? If you had gotten some sleep last night this would never have happened."
"You know, he's not wrong, I was able to tie you up and gag you without you waking up." The girl put in.
"You know, that brings us back to square one, you never answered our question. Who are you?" Kirosaki asked with a smirk on his face.
"If you must know I am Brenztcheen Ankhobgraft." Brenztcheen responded.
"What now?" James asked his expression one of immense confusement.
"Br... Brenzt... You know what? That's far too complicated, I'm just going to call you Silver, because your eyes are Silver." Kirosaki said giving up on trying to pronounce the name.
"Same here." James said leaning against a tree. "And now, why are you here? And why are you stealing from us?"
"A girls gotta eat." Silver replied and she turned back in the direction of the camp.
"And where do you think you're off to?" James and Kirosaki said in unison. They glanced at each other for a second with a grin on their faces. Then they followed after Silver.
