The drive back to New York, was an emotional one. She couldn't stand to stay another night in DC, so she cancelled her last signing and jumped on the highway. Thoughts of how she would break the news to DeMarcus, followed by what would be his reaction; clouded Victoria's mind. She considered not telling him but knew that he deserved better than that. Even though, she'd just slipped up with Vincent the night before; DeMarcus and her had been making great progress in the repair of their marriage.
She knew this news would destroy all that they'd rebuilt together and at the thought of it, the tears she'd been holding in since receiving her results; fell disgracefully from her eyes.
When she pulled into her drive way, DeMarcus and the children were waiting out front for her.
"Mommy!" Her children screamed in unison as they swarmed the car.
"Hey babies! Oh, mommy missed y'all so much." She kissed all over their tiny faces.
"Okay, it's Daddy's turn." DeMarcus called out. He helped her out of the car and pulled her into his arms for a loving embrace.
"Oooh!" the younger kids chanted.
"Shut up, y'all. They're married," DeMarcus Jr. taunted.
"Mommy and Daddy sitting in the tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G." Marques started chanting.
"First comes love, then comes marriage then comes mommy with a baby carriage." Michael and Misty continued.
"Y'all stupid. Get in the house!" DeMarcus Jr. shouted as he rounded up his siblings.
"Aye, that doesn't sound like to bad of an idea. What do you think about 'Mommy coming with a baby carriage'" DeMarcus teased as he wrapped his arms around Victoria's waist.
The waterworks began again at the mere mention of a baby.
"Baby, I was just joking. No need to cry," he tried comforting her.
"DeMarcus, we need to talk." Victoria sobbed.
"Oh, that doesn't sound too good." DeMarcus replied as he let go of Victoria. They walked into the house.
Before they could take a seat at the table, Victoria ran over to the sink and vomitted.
"Are you okay, baby?" DeMarcus questioned.
"I will be. Please, have a seat," Victoria responded as she wiped her mouth with a paper towel.
"What's going on, Victoria? Talk to me. The kids and I, playfully mentioned a baby then you start crying. I'm not understanding."
Victoria looked DeMarcus into his eyes and grabbed a hold of his hand.
"DeMarcus, I need you to know that I love you." She started.
"I love you too, baby. But what does that have to do with your hysterics?"
"Please, let me finish while I still have the courage to say this. Because believe me, it's not easy for me."
DeMarcus suspiciously looked at her while she gathered her thoughts.
"DeMarcus, around the time I initially found about you and Tracey, I pursued a relationship outside of our marriage."
"Say what? So you've been cheating this whole time too?"
"Not the whole time. With the exception of last night, I haven't any contact with Vincent."
DeMarcus jumped up from the table, snatching his hand away from her.
"Last night? You fucked another man last night? What the hell? Why? Why would you do that?"
