Colors of the Wind

This is another one I wrote for my poetry class. The assignment was to write an imagery poem. I had a lot of fun writing this one because I'm a visualizer so it was super easy. Enjoy!

The bright colors bounce,

Fly off the canvas.

Literally.

Fire truck reds, neons yellows, vibrant blues,

Orange oranges, snake eye greens, egg plant purples.

Warm colors,

Cool colors,

Soft, bright colors.

The canvas before me

It holds nothing of importance.

Paint splattered randomly

Here, there, everywhere.

The painting screams craziness.

The brush in my hand is old,

Withering, splintering,

Slowly falling apart.

I dip the brush in the electric blue,

Bring my wrist back,

And flick

Sending the color flying

Through the air.

Bouncing off the canvas.

Beside this being an assignment, I wrote this because this is something I really want to do. I had fun writing it because I love colors and craziness and I want to try it.
