2nd CHAPTER: My New Home

We arrived at uncle's house pretty quick.
During the taxi trip all I did was looking at the window and let the view amaze me.
"I don't think I've ever seen so many skyscrapers in my life."

Souno and I got out of the taxi.

The moment I took a look at the house these words came without warning ≪So pretty! It's so different from the houses in hometown!≫

Souno made a pause too look at the house before saying anything (like he didn't look at it every single day).

After staring at the house he started speaking ≪It looks like a normal house to me.≫
≪Well, it's the first time I see a house like this, but I like it.≫

Since I was from the countryside I was used to other kinds of houses.

≪If you look around you'll see they all look the same.≫

Just like Souno told me to, I peeked a bit to the other sides to see how the other houses were (since I was super curious about it). I ended up realizing that they all looked like uncle's house.

The first weird thing I noticed in all houses was that the entry was so small it would take you only three steps to get to the front door. They were also taller (they had more floors).

"Here houses are taller to save space, I guess. At least it seems like so."

Back were I used to live, almost all houses had a big entry with grass, plants and trees, and they were also low-leveled (most of them had only one floor). All unlike the ones in here.

Suddenly Souno interrupted my thoughts.
≪I guess the fact that you like this type of house is a good start. But I hope that you, more than liking it, get used to it. And quickly. Since it's your house from now on...≫

"WAIT A MINUTE! Now that I think about it, I'm going to stay in a house with two guys I barely know. Well, uncle is uncle, but Souno is around my age. His hormones are unstable right now! Wonderful, now I'm starting to get nervous."

And then I realized I was having dirty thoughts, so I decided to stop them and say something to Souno (since I agreed with him). But because I was still a bit nervous, I couldn't speak as loudly as I expected.
≪Y-yeah. I think you're totally right.≫

Only when the taxi driver started calling us we remembered we had to grab my things.
"The taxi driver looks pretty irritated!"
I bowed to him while saying ≪We're truly sorry!≫
He didn't seem to bother anyway. "Maybe that's just his normal face? Come on Yuna! Enough with the stupid and useless thoughts, okay?"

Souno grabbed my big and cute potatoes suitcase again and I grabbed my other things.
We walked together to the front door and Souno seemed to have remembered something. He then picked a small object out of his pocket and started moving his hand towards me.
≪Give me your hand.≫
I hesitated for 2 seconds and then raised my hand like I was begging for money.
After that, he putted something cold and small in my hand. He was careful not to touch my hand.
≪This is your key. Try not to loose it... You can try opening th...≫
≪Thanks, I'll try it!≫ I said, smiling, while I was trying to figure out how the key should enter the keyhole.
