Chapter 6 >> Lover's Lane

(With Erza and the others)
Grey: What's happening to the Tower?!
Erza: It has become too much power to hold! The Tower Naturally keeps drawing in erthernano. It has become too much for the lacrima to handle!
Wally: S-so. We gotta get outta here unless we plan to be blown to bits!
Lucy: But Natsu and Y/n are still up there!
Sho: I know our friends are still there but if we don't get out of here, NONE of us will make it out alive!
Juvia: I agree. We have to go.
(With Y/n and Natsu. They are running through the exploding lacrima.)
Y/n: There is no use... *stops* Even if we were to get out, we'd have no chance of getting far enough away from the explosion to survive.
Natsu: Snap out of it! Fairy Tail wizards never quit! We fight 'til the very end! Because that's what it means to be from Fairy Tail!
Y/n: *tears up*
Natsu: *Smiles. Takes her arm. in a softer voice* And Fairy Tail wizards, never leave friends behind.
Y/n: F-friends......?
Natsu: Yes. Friends.

Time stopped or me at that moment. As soon as Natsu said that word, it gave me hope. It gave me strength to keep going.

Y/n: Right!!!
Natsu: Heheh. Let's go.
(They keep running. Cracks begin to reveal in the ground. The pieces of lacrima start to shatter beneath their feet.)
Natsu: Our boosters!
Y/n: Right! Night Dragon Dark Fist Booster! *is sent into the air*
Natsu: Fire Dragon Iron Fist Booster! *is sent into air, following her.*
(While flying, they dodge lacrimas falling from the floor above. Rather, the ceiling)
Y/n: *starts to sweat* I'm almost out of magic power!
Natsu: Keep going! *his flame stars to run low* no.....! I won't go down like this!!
(They near the outside of the Tower)
Y/n: I see the ocean!
Natsu: We are almost there! *his light flickers even more* No no no! Come on!
Y/n: Natsu look out!
(A giant lacrima comes crashing down. Y/n uses the last of her power to push Natsu out of the way, sending him into the lacrima wall. Y/n got hit with it instead. Natsu looks out and sees a bunch of blue smoke, but not Y/n)
Natsu: No....... n-not again! Why did she have to save me like that again??
(The smoke disappears and reveals Y/n standing up. Her fist in the air and her head facing the ground, her face twisted in pain. The shattered lacrima all around her. She had destroyed it with a magicless punch. She collapses)
Natsu: Y/n!! *jumps down and runs to her* Y/n!

Everything goes black... I can feel someone grip me tightly. I am lifted off the ground. My eyes slightly open and I see Natsu's face. His pink hair waving and his amber eyes looking straight ahead. I look around with my eyes and realize, that we aren't on the lacrima anymore. He is walking on a darkened beach. Did the Tower not explode?

Natsu: You okay down there?
Y/n: Huh....? *nods*
Natsu: Good. *seriousness in his voice and face* Do me a favour.
Y/n: Y-yes?
Natsu: Never leave my side again.
Y/n: *quietly gasps* Mm. Yes!
Lucy: *from a distance* Natsu!!!
(Y/n and Natsu look over to about 30 feet away. The group all stands there. Erza, Lucy, Grey, Happy, Juvia, Simon, Wally, Millianna, and Sho)
Y/n: *sees Simon and the others, struggles out of Natsu's arms and runs toward them. She stops*
Sho: Y/n...
Y/n: Sh-Sho....
Sho: Where is Jellal?
Y/n: H-he is...I think he's dead.

>FLASHBACK<
Jellal: What's your name?
Y/n: It's Y/n....
Jellal: I'm Jellal. *smiles*
>FLASH<
Y/n: I'm scared.....
Jellal: It's okay. *takes her hand* We will get out of this alive. Trust me.
>FLASH<
Jellal: I will protect you with my life, until the end of either of our lives.
Y/n: And I will too.
>FLASH<
Jellal: *uses his magic to push Y/n into the lacrima. She is half way in, crying in agony*
Y/n: Ugnnnnnn!!!
Natsu: *comes running in and stops in between them* So. You're Jellal. *turns to Y/n. Runs to her and pulls her out of the Lacrima*
Y/n: N-Natsu....!
>FLASH TO PRESENT<

Sho: Right.....
Y/n: *looks at Wally, Millianna, and Simon. Simon is looking at her, slightly smiling. Wally is looking down and Millianna is still staring into Y/n's eyes, hatred in her gaze*
Y/n: Millianna.... I-I understand if you don't want to talk to me—...
Millianna: Oh. It's more than that. You and Jellal both used us like tools. You even plY/nd to kill us after the Tower was completed!
Simon: *is looking down*
Millianna: *looks to the others* she isn't seriously coming back with us?!
Natsu: Y/n risked her life trying to kill Jellal! If it wasn't for her—!
Y/n: Please, Natsu. The fault is mine.... I will accept her hate along with the others'.
Sho: Millianna, stop. *his head is down*
Millianna: It's her fault! We could have been free from the Tower! We could have lived our lives so far!
Y/n: .........
Simon: Millianna, that's enough.
Y/n: Please Simon...... just leave me here. At the tower. I need to be isolated from the world so I can bring no further harm to you or the civilians.
Natsu: Not gonna happen.
Y/n: H-huh?
Natsu: What did I tell you about never leaving a friend behind?!
Y/n: What if I want to be left behind?
Natsu: *looks at the others* I need a moment alone with her.
(They go away out of earshot)
Y/n: Natsu. You've done so much for me. Please let me do this for myself. I'm a free wizard who wants to atone for her crime.
Natsu: Please don't do this....
Y/n: Natsu......
Natsu: *hugs her* I thought I told you that I never leave a friend alone in the dark.
Y/n: *hugs back* Ill be okay, Natsu. I need to find peace with myself. Now that I'm out of the darkness, I can do that.
Natsu: Y/n.....
Y/n: Thank you for everything you've done for me. I hope you get home okay.
Natsu: *tears up* just.... p-promise me something!
Y/n: Anything.....
Natsu: *pulls away* live your life to the fullest. Never forget your Fairy Tail friends.
Y/n: *tears up* Thank you.... I will... *smiles*
Natsu: *turns away and walks with the others*
Y/n: *knows he can hear her because of Dragon Slayer Hearing,* Natsu..... Remember this... I love you. Nothing will ever change that.
Natsu: *stops, doesn't look back, but smiles*

     I watch the rowboat with my brother and friends on it disappear into the unending horizon. I can feel more wet tears escape my eyes. Natsu. Erza. Simon. Jellal. They are all gone. But I will see them again. Natsu, my love, my soul, my fellow Dragon Slayer, my Dearest Rescuer.
