as florence placed her phone down on her nightstand, she laid down and thought. what was jaeden hiding? wanting to figure out what it was, she decided to invite him over to talk.
meanwhile, jaeden was hesitating before replying to her invitation. he knew she was obviously going to ask what the secret was, but he didn't care. he was going to confess his feelings for her tonight.
as jaeden hopped in the uber to her house, little did he know that he wasn't going to be the only boy there. as florence was walking down her stairs to her kitchen, the doorbell rang. weird, jaeden is here awfully early. she opened the door to be met by grayson.
"grayson? what are you doing here?" she asked.
"sorry this is unexpected, but i need to tell you something," he said looking at the ground.
"sure, come on in," she replied smiling and opening the door wider to let him in. he hesitated, then obeyed. once they were both inside he turned to her and looked at her directly in her eyes.
"florence, i really like you."
"i really like you too," florence smiled back, a little unsure of what he meant.
"no, i mean i like you more than friends. i might even love you," grayson said while his cheeks turned crimson. florence's mouth went dry at his statement, and she looked to the floor.
"grayson, we are fourteen. we don't know what love is." she looked back up to him to see that his eyes were blooming sadness and regret.
"yeah, you're probably right. i'm sorry, i should go," he said.
"wait, grays—" the girl started before she was cut off. he was kissing her. he was kissing her and she didn't exactly want it. not knowing how to respond, she let him kiss her. as he was slowly moving his head back, his hands cupped her cheeks.
"i love you florence, and i don't care what you say." her breath hitched in herthroat as he said those exact words, making her feel guilty for having feelings for someone else. little did she know that that someone was there to witness the whole extravaganza. jaeden quickly turned around and ran the opposite direction of her house, not bearing to think about what he just saw.
as the clock ticked on her wall, florence became sadder and sadder. it was now 9:30, an hour since jaeden should've arrived. eventually, the girl got up from the couch and went to her room, sad and worried as she got ready for sleep.
why wasn't he here? she thought, what did i do? did something happen?
jaeden knew he shouldn't of stood up the girl like that but she had grayson. picking up his phone, he decided to text jack.
