4. Childhood friends?

- SUZY POV -

- MONDAY -

"Hey Suzy are you okay?" Sungwoon asks.

I was surprised by him calling me by my first, but then I remembered I said he could call me that. Plus we were on pretty close terms now, considering his mom is my favorite person in the whole world.
"Yeah, aha...I'm fine. Do I not look okay?" I ask.
'Well, you look like you're day dreaming about something."
"Oh yeah. You know, just thinking."

Sungwoon smiles and walks to his desk.

I've already gotten halfway into my lecture when Hoshi and Daniel walks in.
"You guys are late."

"Yeah we know that Ms.Bae." Hoshi says while walking to his desk. Daniel walks to his desk and we make eye contact. He smiles and does a little wave.
He is so cute...

I smile back.

RIING RIING

Class ends as I'm walking out Hoshi makes his way by my side. "Whats up Ms.Bae?"
"Um, I dont know. You're the one who came up to me haha..."
He laughs. "True."

Hoshi walks in front of me and stops, making me bump into him.
"Really hoshi?"
"Ha, sorry...umm...so..um..."
"Spit it out."
"Okay. I'm just gonna say it...."

Hoshi still doesn't say anything.

I slap his arm. "Dude just say it."
'Okay okay...umm. Do you not remember me?" He asks.

I analyze his face. "No? Am I suppose to?"
"Really??? You really don't remember this handsome face?"
I laugh. "Sorry. Why dont you tell me?"
"Dude its me! Sonnyoung!?"
Soonyoung? WHAAATTT??
"Wait...THE Kwon Soonyoung??"
"Yes!!!"
"AHHHHHHH!!! OH MY GOSH!!!"
We hug each other and squeal in excitement.

Soonyoung was my childhood friend, but before middle school started, I moved away and we lost contact.
"Dude, I've missed you so much." I say while punching his arm.
"Same!! Gosh I use to have the biggest crush on you, you know that?"
"Oh yeah I knew that. You made it so obvious."

We laugh and he swings his arm over my shoulders, but I push them off.

"Hey we're still on school property." I say.
"True, your'e right. Hows your mom?"
"Oh! Shes at home right now, wanna go see her?"
"Obviously!"
While walking to the bus station, I spot Daniel and we make eye contact, but I ignore him.

Awkward.
We make it back to my house and my mom opens the door. "Soonyoung!?" She exclaims.
"Momma Jung!" Hoshi exclaims back with open arms.
They hug each other and she invites him in. She has dinner ready and we all sit around the table.
"Hows Mr.Jung?" Hoshi asks my mom.
"Oh hes fine. He just works night shifts now. He should be going to his regular schedule next week."
"Nice! Cant wait to see him again! I've missed my second family."

We all laugh, eat, catch up, cry with each other.

I never know Hoshi would be my student.
After dinner him and I go up to my bedroom.
"Dude your room still looks the same. haha." Hoshi touches everything in my room.
"Stop touching everything Soonyoung." I say. I lay on my bed and pat the empty spot next to me, telling him to come.
Hoshi crosses his arms. "Would it be okay for a student and teacher to be laying next to each other on a bed?"
"Nooooooo...But it's okay for childhood friends to lay next to each other on a bed." I pull his arm forcing him to lay next to me.

I turn on the TV and we talk for hours. It became dark by the time we realized it. My mom came in.
"Hey Soonyoung. Care to stay the night?"
Hoshi and I look at each other. I shrug my shoulders.
"Up to you." I say.
"Umm...I dont know...Maybe not? I mean there's school tomorrow and...yeah.. You know." Hoshi says unsure.
I nudge his shoulder, indicating that I actually want him to stay the night.
"Come on Hoshi, It'll be like old times!" I say.

My mom and I start chanting "Stay here Stay here Stay here."
Eventually he gives in. "Okay okay ahah, I'll stay the night."
My mom closes the door and Hoshi gets up.
"Where are you doing?" I ask.

"I'm gonna sleep on the floor." He says.
"Oh, I dont have any extra blankets. Just sleep up here. It's no big deal."

"Yeaaahhhh...But you're like...my teacher right now..."
"Ugh can you just not think about that right now"
Hoshi gets back on my bed and I lay my head on his chest.
Hoshi coughs from discomfort. "Is this okay?" He asks.
"What are you so worried about hoshi? We're friends."
"Okay...yeah sorry."
"Don't even know what the big deal is." I say back closing my eyes.

I wake up in the middle of the night to see that Hoshi isn't sleeping next to me anymore, but is sleeping on the floor next to me.
I sigh. "Really hoshi...? Are you really that uncomfortable?"

I take my blanket and put it over hoshi.

I then walk out of my room to go get a glass of water.

I grab a cup when all of a sudden I hear a sound and I quickly turn my head to the sound.

"God damn hoshi. You scared me."
"Sorry ha." He says scratching the back of his head. "I was just thirsty too."
I hand him my cup and he drinks from it. "Listen, Suzy...Can we talk?"

"yeah of course." I'm kind of nervous.

"SO I just want to say, I know you're still very comfortable with me...but you're going a bit too fast. I mean this is the first time you're just now realizing that we use to be childhood friends. It's been years. We're old and legal now, aha. You're just taking this super fast and I need time to adjust."
I don't say anything because I'm full of embarrassment and now its awkward.
"Say something?" He asks.
I'm so embarrassed.
"Yeah um...I'm sorry soonyoung. I didn't know I was going this fast. I'll take it slow." I force a smile.

"Glad we're on the same page. I'll sleep on the couch. okay?"
"I continue to force the smile. "Okay."

I go back to my room and he heads to the couch.

I bury my face in my pillow from embarrassment and I start talking to myself.
"Gosh Suzy, why are you so dumb?"
