The cold crisp air blows in from the sea
Hands shake and cheeks turn red from the air
I take shelter under the glass enclosed bus stop
The bus stop that did not shelter you
Heated cars fly by
Without a glance in my direction
Is this how it felt when no one would take you in?
Only the frost covered glass windows and wooden bench to comfort you
Not even your adult children could have helped you
As the cold took over, were you afraid?
Did you resent the people across the way whp wouldn't let you in?
The glass structure tried to block the bitter spring air
But your blue lips and slowing heart didn't seem to notice
The bus speeds up, spewing gas into the air
The people step on, getting ready to continue their day
But I look back to see you frozen there in time
