"It looks like lunch just arrived, doesn't it, boys?" He continued, smirking, running his hand through his messing red hair. I look at the other four men as they stared at me with blank expressions.
"No! Please, Sir! I mean no harm to you or anyone else here. Please, don't hurt me!" I pleaded, whimpering at the end of my sentence.
One of the guys looked at me questionably, squinting at my right cheek.
"What happened to you?" He asked bluntly, his black hair falling over a portion of his face. He continued to stare at me, not making any moment to move away his hair from his face, as he waited for my answer.
"I can't tell you. He promised to hurt me even more if I did." I said, looking down. I felt embarrassed that the bruise on my right cheek was from my mate. My other half. The one who was suppose to love me forever.
"Who's he?" The leader of the Rogues questioned.
"I can't tell you that either. Just please, let me go. Please don't hurt me. I have to leave."
"Why? Why can't you just tell us?" The same guy from the Leader's left side questioned.
"I can't take this anymore!" I broke out into tears. "I can't tell you why or what happened to me! If I do, he will get me back. He will hurt me if I tell you. Now, I'm wasting time standing here, while I should be continuing my way."
"No." The Leader growled out. "You saw us, so now you have to come with us."
"I'm not going with you!" I exclaimed, feeling panic rising in my chest. My tears stopped falling, as I wiped off the tear streaks from my face using the back of my left hand. "Not even a couple minutes ago, you guys said I looked like lunch!"
"Yeah, well its too late. I can hear them coming. Its either you come with us, or you get caught by these guys." Some guy with brown hair from the right side of the Leader said.
"Who?" I questioned panickly, thinking of what would happen if my mate found me.
"The Alpha."
Those two words were the only things that made me run. I ran towards the rogues, running past them, motioning with them to come with me.
They followed me, catching up to me, and then finally rushing past me. I tried my best keeping up with them, but since I was beat and was starved by Xzavier, I couldn't find the energy to do what I needed to do.
We continued running for a couple more minutes, when the bruise sitting on my ribs had me stopping and gasping for air. I bended partway down, my hands resting on my knees as I continued to gasp.
The Rogues stopped a few feet away from me, watching as I wheezed in pain, accidentally squeezing my bruise as I tried to hug myself when I finally stood up straight.
"You know, for a werewolf, you're not a very good one." One of the Rogues who hasn't spoken a word until now, snorted out. "I mean, you couldn't smell the Alpha's scent, which was pretty strong. You're not healing correctly because the bruise on your cheek is still not healed. Which, should be healed by now, by the way. I don't think it has even started healing yet. And now, you can't even run as fast as a normal SheWolf should run. Seriously. I think a pup could run faster than you. Now, what aren't you telling us?" He questioned, narrowing his eyes at me.
I glanced at his whitish blonde hair and his bright blue eyes before keeping my eyes set on a nearby tree.
"Nothing... There's nothing wrong with me. Just a little bit different. Aren't we all?" I excused, trying to change the subject. "Now, come on. The longer we stay here, the quicker the Alpha will find us." I said, trying continue walking.
"Relax, we're off pack land." The Leader began. "So, we have all the time in the world. So tell us, what's wrong?" He asked soothingly, trying not to scare me.
I know I shouldn't trust them, but after so long and having one person, nonetheless more, talk to me, I felt as though I should. I blame it on my mate for not letting me talk to anyone.
"Um... My... My mate did this to me." I stuttered out, looking around to see if he was there, learking in the shadows of the forest. "He... He would beat me, and then starve me, so I wouldn't heal easily. And with my wolf dealing with rejection, and not being able to have food for so long, she... She weakened. So, my wolf isn't with me at the moment, so that's why I'm not healing or running as fast as you guys are. I can't even shift!" I cried out.
"You dealt with rejection?" I looked at the blonde for a minute before answering.
"Well, he didn't really say the words of rejection to me, but the way he treated me and the way he hurt me, it felt like he did." I glanced down at my sock covered feet, feeling embarrassed once again, for having the mate that no one wanted to have. The one who would hurt their other half because they felt like it.
"Who was your mate?" The Leader asked me, sounding slightly curious.
"The Alpha." I whispered out, still staring at my feet.
