I was welcomed on the first day of the term in Ellington high by 20 cheerleaders, gathering me and hugging me one by one. People complimented me on my new haircut that I had gotten in the summer vacations.
It's the same every year. And everyday. I enter the school and the crowd of cheerleaders gathers me and doesn't leave me alone until school ended. Let me give you a brief introduction. I am Nikita Seivers, Daughter of Mrs. Maggie Fields, owner of "the blue queen salon" which is the most famous salon in Amsterdam, our town. My parents got divorced 2 years ago and I am the only daughter. My father lives in Shanghai with his 20 year old girlfriend, Zoella. Which is why I live with my mother.
I am the most popular girl in Ellington High since kindergarten. I have dated every single hot guy in our school's football team. And right now, I'm dating the team captain. My mom's salon gets me free stunning hairtstyles every year and discount on the most expensive dresses. It's not like I need that much fixing in my hair. People say I have naturally nice hair So I never dyed my hair. But I do have wavy hair, and green eyes like emerald. Oh no, I am not being self obsessed, its the picture of myself in my mind.
I can get whatever I want. Whenever I want.
The crowd of cheerleaders began to move away when a tall, handsome, blue eyed boy walked towards me. Tobby.
I ran towards him and threw myself into his arms and he picked me up. "I missed you so much!" I said before I kissed him on the lips.
Tobby had asked me out before the summer vacations and we only had 20 max days before he left for California. Like I mentioned, he was the football team captain. He went on a football camp every summer with the rest of the team. We couldn't contact each other because he had lost his phone on the airport and he barely opened his facebook.
"I missed you too, Niks." He whispered into my right ear. I couldn't help but smile. He put a hand around my waist and we walked into the halls of Ellington High together. People greeted us on the way, and the lowlife people stared at us from a distance. My life was perfect, Like a Lana Del Rey song. In slow-motion. I looked around. Tobby's hand was on my waist so the only direction I could turn to was a right. But a boy on the left caught my eye.
He was carrying a Nike bag on his shoulder. Light brown hair, dark blue eyes. He smiled at a girl ahead of me and I could his dimple, like someone stabbing a knife into his cheek. Only the knife was invisible. He was beautiful but how come I never saw him before? Is he new?
The bell rang and the song was over. Me and Tobby had different classes all day.
"History," I said.
"Physics," he said.
We both went in different directions and I turned back once and waited for him to turn and look at me but he didn't. I was the most popular girl in school, I had the best parents, but why was my boyfriend so uninterested in me?
I looked around the corridor and the blue eyed guy was also gone.

"Hay, gurl!" My lesbian bestfriend, Caroline hugged me as I entered the history class.
"You are such a ditcher. Not even one text in two months?" I said, pulling away from the hug. "I missed you so much."
"I missed you too. I spent the whole summer with Melanie in Carlifornia!" Melanie was Caroline's girlfriend. They had been dating for over a year now, and they were so perfect.
"Oh, Tobby was also in Carlifornia, Did you meet him?" I asked Caroline as we were taking our seats. Mr Drew, The history teacher, would be here any moment.
