Deer In The Headlights

I didn't expect it.
I didn't expect you
And I certainly didn't expect this feeling.
From that silly fleeting moment
In the back of the store
You caught me dancing.
I was frightened.
My guard was down and there I was.
Dancing around the isle like an idiot.
You caught me.
I was essentially a deer in the headlights.
I just wasn't fast or smart enough to get out of the way of the oncoming truck.
And by that I mean emotions.
Gosh, I never expected to become so attached you.
You are an actual of sunshine.
Or headlights and I'm a deer who doesn't know the difference.
Either way, I was hit.
I was a goner.
And here I am now.
You're beautiful, and radiant.
Something I can't get close to.
Sexuality and Religion keep me from even trying.
And I'm staring straight into the headlights.
