'All staff report to the second floor meeting room for further information about the upcoming surgery in fifteen minutes' sounded the hospital reciever throughout the hospital, I groaned and pulled myself up from the sofa. I turned around until I as face to face with the staff room clock, damn it! I thought to myself for sure I was going to be late again.

I ran out of the staff room and into the hallway, I was currently ten floors above the meeting room, if I took the stairs I would stand a better chance. Hospital elevators nowadays were so slow you could die in them trying to get to the next floor. I pulled open the door to the stairs and flew down them as quick as humanly possible. I burst out on the floor I was supposed to come to, I checked the time I was currently 5 minutes late, oh well better than usual I thought.

I burst through the door to the meeting room, running right into Dr.Akira and knocking the both of us over, 'do you not know how to knock.' He scoffed, 'or how to at least be on time for once'. I looked at him before getting up and brushing the dust off my pants, 'sorry sir.' I bow then go to my seat, as I
hit it the rest of me just sank into it accepting it's warmth.

'I guess we will have to start this meeting again seeing as someone failed to show up on time, as i was saying we have an emergency operation come in from Shori hospital a male in his late fifties im going to need a solid team' he said whilst looking around the room, he looked right at me and i grabbed his gaze, he shook me off and sat down. Five minutes has passed you could see the names flowing through his eyes almost, he got up from hus chair 'right i have made my decision this surgery will be harder given the patients age so Hideki would you please perform this operation.' 'I would be delighted to' Hideki answered.

'The team i have chosen will consist of the top surgeons, Zakurai and Mari you to will be Hideki's assistants, Haruka you will be the nurse in charge and last but not least Daisuke I would like you to do the anaesthesis.' Akira instructed, the staff all nodded to him. 'I then conclude this meeting everyone at your stations the patient will be arriving soon.' He said.

Everyone rushed out of the room to head to their stations, I pulled myself up from the chair and sighed it was so unfair how I was never allowed to take part in the operations. I walked out of the room with my head down and slamed the door behind me, 'someone is angry' someone tutted above me I lifted my head up and was face to face with Dr.Akira.

I pout at him angrily, 'why are you pouting Kana' he asks with an I know but i'll ask anyway face. I turn and walk away from him towards the childrens ward, 'hey, I take it you don't want to watch the operation' he snickers. I turned around to face him once again before retorting 'No thanks!'.

I lied. Operations are interesting to watch but I was also tired of just watching. I have been a part of the Cardiology departments team for two years now, im eighteen years old, young right?, I skipped out on school since I was young I couldn't afford the tuition at school as it was too high, so instead I studied all the books in the central libfary on doctors notes and also infectious diseases.

Some time after I then studied for my doctorate, how? You ask, surely if I couldn't afford tuition I couldn't afford a doctorate. That was true however the hospital director adopted me so he paid for it for me after my studies. After I had passed my doctorate I had to choose a department to join and that is how I came to end up on the cardiology departments team.

Where are my parents you ask?, they had died when I was just ten years old, however I do have an older brother he is now twenty six he was arrested for murder when I was three my parents told me about him as I was growing up but I hoped the day would come for me to meet him again.
