31) Phantoms (Mini chapter)

I know what you're thinking It's been WAY more than a week. But my life kinda spiraled into a dark hole after that stupid trip I went on and I fell sick.

But I'm back. Albeit, with a newfound hatred for humanity. (People are annoying)

"I'm impressed Jungkook. With the time you spent away from the group. I thought you'd be rusty." Namjoon said, lacing his fingers together, wearing a satisfied smile.

Jungkook stood stiffly at the entrance of Namjoon's office.

"Come on in. You don't need permission for that." Namjoon said, beckoning the younger to enter the room.

Jungkook entered the room hesitantly. "Are you going to give me my next mission?" He asked the gang leader.

Namjoon chuckled. "Eager are we?" He joked. "Don't worry Jungkook, you'll get to know about your next mission when it is required of you."

Jungkook nodded.

"So how was your mission?" Namjoon asked. "Of course I know it was a success from the reports, but how was it for you?"

Jungkook narrowed his eyes. "What do you mean by that?"

Namjoon shrugged. "It's pretty simple. I want your personal report of the mission,"

"Is there a particular reason why?" Jungkook asked, not understanding why he felt Namjoon was trying to get at something.

"No. I just needed a report from one of the members of each team. So why not you?

Since from what Yoongi told me it seems that you were quite innovative in the way you handled the mission, he sang your prays.

And you and I both know that Yoongi doesn't do that too often." Namjoon explained.

"No, he doesn't." Jungkook agreed. "Do you want a written report?"

"That won't be necessary. Just answer a few questions for me, honestly. You think you can do that?" Namjoon asked.

Jungkook chewed on his lip. "Yeah. I can."

"Brilliant." Namjoon said, giving Jungkook a dimpled smile. "We're there any difficulties you faced while executing the mission?"

Jungkook shook his head. "Not at all. Yoongi made sure that all the technicalities were looked into."

Namjoon nodded. "Yes, I suppose that is to be expected by him, but I wasn't referring to the technical issues. I'm more interested whether you faced any difficulties."

"I don't know what you're implying." Jungkook said, carefully.

"Yoongi told me that you seemed quite...off before the mission. Moral issues and such, I suppose?" Namjoon explained.

The brunet balled his hands into fists to try and keep himself calm. "It's only natural since I don't want to be a part of this anymore. I'm just completing the three missions that I promised I would." Jungkook replied.

Namjoon gave him a slow nod. "Indeed. Very effectively too."

"-And about the memory loss you were talking about." The gang leader referenced.
