AN: Soooooooo.... A lot has happened and I haven't been able to do anything. With a hurricane and clean up, I couldn't really do much. We got power a long time ago, but the wifi router doesn't want to work. It's working now so I will try to update when possible.

Dean's POV

Sammy seemed to lighten up as the day progressed. He would occasionally laugh and crack a smile.

Right now, I'm sitting outside with Jenny. The dogs and Sammy are outside. Bobby left to go buy food and other supplies.

General POV

The dogs, Spike and Luke, had a tennis ball that they wanted Sam to keep throwing. Sam would though the ball and the husky and german shepherd would bolt after it. Dean kept a close eye on Sam since the dogs were bigger than he is.

Jenny watched Dean watching the boys play. She smiled at his protectiveness towards Sam. She knew the story behind his parents so it was understandable.

Jenny started talking to Dean, but Dean was so engorged in what was happening with the dogs and Sam, he didn't hear her.

"-ean! Did you hear me?"

Dean turned to her. "No. What were you saying?"

Jenny chuckled and laid a hand on his shoulder then got serious. "What has you so uptight this morning? Did something happen?"

Dean sighed. She was one of the only people that knew how to read him like a book. "Yeah. It was early this morning. It doesn't matter."

Jenny raised an eyebrow to him. "If it didn't matter, why are you so worried about it?"

Dean looked down to the ground, dropping her gaze. "Sam had a nightmare. I woke up to him crying on my shoulder. He doesn't want to talk about it."

Jenny didn't look surprised. "Of course he would have nightmares. He has just been through an ordeal. It is still fresh. " Jenny then told him, "Don't push him to talk about it. That will just drive him away. Let him know that if he needs to talk, you or one of us is there for him."

Dean didn't say anything as he lifted his head to look back to Sam.

The silence lasted till the sliding glass door opened. Dean and Jenny turned to look. Bobby stepped out of the house.

"Hey, Bobby."

"Hey, Dean and Jenny."

General POV

After dinner, Sam curled up on the couch with the dogs and Jenny. Bobby and Dean were cleaning up the kitchen. Jenny would have helped, but Sam pulled her to the couch.

The little boy sat beside her with Spike, the husky, beside him and Luke, the German shepherd, on the floor beside him.

Jenny ran a hand through his hair. "You know nightmares happen to everyone, right?" She felt Sam nod.

"Dean, Bobby, and I are all here if you want to talk." She told Sam. Sam turned to look at her. Jenny turned her head to meet his eyes.

"Really?" Asked Sam.

Jenny nodded and continued to stroke his hair.

"I can talk to you," Sam said as if he was looking for permission.

"Of course," Jenny told him.

Sam turned his full body to her. "The dream was about the lady. She was mean and had all blue eyes. She got me and took me away again. I don't want to leave."

Jenny felt something drop onto her arm that held him by his waist. 'Was he crying?' Jenny asked herself.  When more dropped, she knew. Jenny pulled Sam onto her lap and started to rub his back.

"It's okay, Sam. You're not going anywhere. Not as long as me and Dean are here. Bobby too. You are safe." Jenny continued to soothe him. The tears started to dry up as his breathing slowed down.

Jenny rubbed his back more till he was snoring lightly. Jenny started to get up when Dean appeared in her view. Dean reached out his hands and Jenny passed Dean the child.

Dean placed Sam's head on his shoulder and secured him in his arms before he walked up the stairs. Jenny followed behind him. The ascent took no time at all and before they knew it, they were at the spare bedroom.

Jenny opened the door and allowed Dean to walk in. Dean gently placed Sam on the bed and tucked him in. Sam turned over, from his back to his right side, away from the man and woman.

Jenny left the room and Dean followed. Jenny and Dean started walking back down the stairs. Jenny kept quite for 2 steps before she spoke up.

"How come you never called me back?"

Dean shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know."

Jenny moved her blonde hair out of her eyes. "I waited for that call, but it never came."

"I'm sorry. I regret many things and this is one of them."

Jenny nodded. "So it wasn't me?"

Dean shook his head. "No. Never."

Jenny seemed satisfied with her answer as they hit the bottom of the stairs. "See you tomorrow, Dean. Sleep well."

Jenny started walking to her room. Dean looked after her. He sighed deeply before heading right back up the steps, leaving a dumbfound Bobby in the living room.
