Day 17: The Park

General POV

The new puppy, who Sam named Bones, was curled up on the bed beside Sam. Sam slept next to Dean as the night started to become colder. The chill of autumn chilled the house.

The puppy moved to get closer to Sam as Sam scooted closer to Dean for warmth. Dean scooted away from the body heat and found himself almost falling off the bed. Dean's eyes opened and slowly sat up. Sam was right up on him and the puppy was on curled up with it's back to Sam's back. 

Dean moved Sam's arms off of him as he got out of bed. Dean took the blanket and covered up the boy and the dog. The dog huffed a satisfied sigh and stayed asleep. Sam turned over and wrapped his arms around the dog. Bones jumped but soon relaxed into Sam's arms.

Dean smiled at them before grabbing his phone. Dean lined up the phone for the shot and took it. Dean looked at the photo for a second before leaving the room. The door was open so Sam would know where he went. 

Dean walked down to the kitchen. Bobby and Jenny were sitting at the table chatting. Jenny's dogs were already outside. 

Dean took a seat beside Jenny, across from Bobby. 

"Mornin'," Dean grunted.

"Good morning!" Jenny exclaimed. 

"Mornin', Dean," Bobby told him.

The awkward silence fell upon them as no one spoke. Dean cleared his throat. "So...uh... What are we doing today?"

Jenny turned to look at him. "I was thinking we take the dogs and Sam to the park. It would seem like fun." 

"Yes!!! PLEASE?" Sam shouted. Bones barked in response to Sam yelling. Bobby chuckled.

"Guess you got your answer." 

Dean nodded. "Ok. The park it is. Eat and feed the dog and we can go."

----Time Skip----

Dean climbed out of the Impala. Sam sat in the back with his dog. Dean grabbed the leash that Jenny bought and handed it to Sam. Sam put the collar on Bones and then hooked the leash to him. 

Sam pulled Bones from the car and the dog stopped. The park, compared to the small puppy, was huge. The dog started to pull on the leash as he jumped up and down with excitement. Jenny pulled up in her car and parked it. She and Bobby got out of the car. Bobby took Spike and Jenny took Luke. 

Jenny walked up to Sam and smiled down at him. She held out her hand for Sam to take. Sam took it and they started to walk. 

Dean followed after Bobby gave him the leash that the Husky was on. The Husky was very well trained on the leash so he didn't pull as much and the other two dogs. 

The group stopped at the large opening near the swings. Sam watched to swings and looked over to Dean. Dean nodded and Sam gave Bobby the leash that Bones was tethered to. Sam ran to the swings. Dean chuckled as Sam jumped up on the swing.

Sam started to swing his legs and giggle. Jenny took the leash off Luke. Dean did the same with Spike and the two ran around the field. Bones watched to two dogs run and started to jump again. 

Bobby took the leash off of Bones and the dog ran after Luke and Spike. They were jumping, running, and playing with each other till it would be time to go. 

Dean went over to Sam at the swings and started pushing him. The little boy wanted higher so Dean pushed him higher. The giggles erupted for the child as he went higher. 

Sam saw the slides and told Dean to stop him. Once he was stopped, Sam ran to the slide. He crawled up the steps and slid down. Dean caught him at the bottom. He started tickling him. 

Dean let him go so he could go play again. 

Dean sat down on the bench about 6 feet from the slides. Dean continued to watch Sam.

About 30 minutes later a young mother sat down beside him. She followed his eye line and saw Sam. She turned to Dean.

"Your son is so cute. I remember when Damion was that young. My daughter is over there on the other slide." Dean looked to the twisty slide and saw a little girl with pigtails. 

Dean smiled to the mother. He didn't feel like correcting her and explaining stuff so he just nodded. 

Jenny's POV

It was about 4:30 when I latched the dogs back on the leashes. Bobby had Bones and I had my babies. We started walking over to the playset and saw Dean talking to another woman. 

I handed Bobby my dogs and walked over to Dean. 

"Are you here alone?" The woman asked.

Dean was about to respond when I spoke up. "Hey, Honey. How is Sam?"

Dean jumped at my voice but nodded to me. "He's fine. He's still playing."

I looked to the lady and smiled. "Hi. I'm Jennifer. I see you met my boyfriend."

Dean didn't say anything as the lady hurried up her goodbye. 

Once she was gone, I started to laugh. Dean started to laugh as well. Sam heard the commotion and started to walk over to us. 

He walked past up and over to Bobby to retrieve his dog. Dean and I walked over to them to head home.
