Later that night, Mettaton decided to check up on his little enemy. He opened her website and gasped. There, on the front page, was him. It was him buying the dress he bought that day. Under it was a headline; what's behind the mask of makeup? Mettaton slammed his computer shut. He sat for a moment and opened it again. He clicked on the headline and started to read.

The most fabulous guy in school might not be as fabulous as we all thought! He was caught buying dresses and makeup at the mall today! And we all believed he just wore eyeshadow! He was buying a huge assortment of beauty products! How UGLY is he really?! More on this later, dearies! Stay curious my little spiders!

Mettaton felt hot tears fall down his face. He had very low confidence in his looks and was shaken to think about if people saw his natural face. It was full of acne and scars. Scars. That's what he was afraid of people finding out about... He ended up having several scars on his face because of makeup, and now, that's what was hiding them. Those ugly, ugly scars. He started to use a bit of spirit gum and makeup to fill in and cover those scars. It started as only foundation and concealer, but in high school, he started to use everything else. People accepted it more at his newer school. But what would they think if they saw him without it? He took off the spirit gum and makeup and looked hard at his face. Mettaton's face was well put together, except for those scars. His chin was perfectly chiseled, and his cheekbones were just prominent enough. But his scars and his acne were very unflattering. He heard a knock on the door.
