Leisha sat at the edge of the lake, tree line ending and presenting a shore of dirt and stones.

The pain in her chest and arm were ever present after her episode inside the tent.

Her knees drawn to her chest, she outstretched one hand and started playing with the water.

She built something up inside her mind, inside her body and the water started to shift, contort in the air.

She watched, quietly, as she twisted her hand in all directions, making the water into different shapes and sizes.

"You're an eleise too, huh?" She jumped at the voice, concentration broken and water falling back into the lake.

She turns to see Xincer, crossing his muscled arms across his arms, leaning against the trunk of a tree.

The words play in her head and she nods, confused and hesitant. A thin eyebrow rises and he strides over next to the small girl.

He feels the confusion roll off of her, however a small part of understanding present as well. He looks down at her wide eyes and wonders how he ever got so soft in such a short time.

With his hand outstretched he pulls energy from his very core and concentrates. The air starts crackling and static rises the small hairs on his arms.

Lightning sparks on the outline of his large hand, white blue illuminating the awe and wonder on Leisha's gaping face.

It dissipates and she stares up at him in amazement, Xincer's soul filling with her astonishment and his pride. He lets a rare, genuine smile crawl underneath his mask.

She draws her knees up to her chest and diverts her attention to the lake in front of her. She seems to think it over, before glancing at him again.

"I've heard of eleises before. Are they people who can use elements as their power or something?"

Her brows furrow and confusion washes over both of them, more prominent in Leisha's case. Xincer looks up to the sky when he nods as conformation.

He sees her grin from the corner of her eye, and he's filled with her happiness. He watches the clouds drift by as he starts explaining.

"Eleises are people who are born with an elemental or material power. Fire, air, metal, and paper are all examples of powers eleises have. Usually, children are taught about these things when they are young. It seems as though you weren't taught those things."

The last part is accusatory and he can feel the fear radiate off the girl as he eyes her, guilt rising in his soul from his soulmate. He refuses to add his own to the mix.

Leisha squirms and feels like melting into the ground as water does, feeling cold and shameful under the man's incriminating glare. She feels the pressure behind her eyes build as tears threaten to spill and presses her lips into a thin line. She refuses to show her weakness to anyone.

They stare into each other's eyes, apathetic as they don't betray anything about the other. The souls, however, are a different story.

He can feel her fear and shame yet there's a faint hint of determination that holds her strong from the liquid that almost spill out of her eyes.

He takes mercy on her and tears her eyes away, feeling the relief wash over his soul from hers and a soft sigh indicates her comfort.

The guilt builds behind the walls protecting his soul, no indication of the emotions he'd shown earlier in the morning. He still does have a reputation, and he isn't going to show his weakness.
