"It's fucking freezing." I complained, shoving my hands into my hoodie pocket. My name is Jean Kirstein. I'm twenty-one years old and attending my second year of art school with my long time friend group; Mikasa, Armin, and, regrettably, Eren.
"Maybe you should have put on something warmer, dumbass." Eren quickly shot back as he huddled between Armin and Mikasa. I wanted to punch his stupid face in. Why I hung out with him was beyond me. Maybe it was because he was one of the only ones in high school that could tolerate my bullshit. I shivered, chills running down my spine. I kicked at the light snow that covered the ground as we headed towards the coffee shop we all loved.
Once there, I opened the door for Mikasa and Armin, pretending to shut it on Eren. He glared, but I got a good kick out of it. It was never full so we got our drinks and snacks quickly and sat down, letting our cold bodies thaw out from the frigid weather outside.
"So when is your new roommate supposed to show up, Jean?" Mikasa asked in a bored tone, after sipping her hot chocolate.
"Um.. He's supposed to get here sometime around six." I said, tapping the table with my index finger. I was really nervous to be honest. I had never shared a room with anyone before, and no one here new my secret, well, no one besides Armin.
"Well, it's four now, just relax Jean. Do you want us to meet him with you?" Armin asked with that sweet smile of his. He knew why I was really nervous.
"Don't be a pussy, Jean, the guy won't attack you." Eren said with a roll of his green eyes and a sip of his coffee.
"Eren, don't be rude!" Armin snapped at the brunette. I snickered a little bit, making Eren growl.
"I'll be fine, Armin, thanks for your concern though." I winked and ruffled up the blonde's hair.
We wasted time at that cafe until it was time for me to take off. I said my goodbyes, flipped Eren off, and was on my way out into the cold wasteland once again. You want to know my big secret, you say? It's not that bad, well not in my opinion at least.
I'm gay.
