Where are you girl?
Home. Been a long day.
*Beep*
Come on girl! We miss you!
Gonna have to pass this time, need to get up early.
*Beep*
You and your horses Connie.
It pays my bills.
*Beep*
Alright...see you around girly...luv you.
Connie tossed her phone down on the bed and headed to the kitchen to make something to eat. She flipped on the TV for background noise. Connie got her food made and then sat down to eat just as someone knocked on the door of her apartment. She got up reluctantly and walked over to the door opening to find Angie Valdez on the other side.
"Angie," she put on a cheery cover face, "how can I help you?"
"Just wanted to talk to you about my horse Connie," Angie smiled.
"Isn't this a conversation you should be having with Kenneth," Connie replied, "he is your trainer."
"Ya," she replied, "but this is more in regards to who rides him. I don't see you as a jockey Ms. Markus. So I dont want you riding my horse."
"You can't judge my race riding ability based on the fact that I've never ridden in a race," Connie stood her ground.
"I don't want you on Sandego," Angie hissed through clenched teeth, "Do I make myself clear?"
"Instead of yelling at me about it," Connie snapped, "go talk to your brother!"
With that she slammed the door in Angie's face. She sat back down on the couch and stretched out to enjoy the rest of the evening.

Kenneth laid in bed looking up at the ceiling questioning his choices for the afternoon. He could feel in his gut that claiming Express Line was not the right choice. Then he was getting all of Hartman's horses from Mark's barn. Then there was the issue with getting a rider for Sandego without making Angie mad. He wanted Connie on the horse since she knew the horse, but Angie was against it. Then again he was the trainer and he had most of the say in who rode the horse. He rolled over and picked up his phone. He dialed Angie's number and hoped she would pick up.
"Hello Kenneth," she answered.
"Let's make a deal over Sandego," he said.
"What kind of deal?" she asked.
"Let Connie ride him in the first race," he presented his idea, "then if you're not happy with how she rides him, James can ride him from there."
"Fine," Angie snapped, "Just the one race and if she fails, it's on you."
"Thank you Angie," Kenneth hung up the phone.
He let out a deep breath happy that it went better than it could have. He then sent Connie a text letting her know the good news.
Angie said she will let you ride Sandego for the first race.
*Beep*
Serious? She was just here yelling at me about how much she didn't want me to ride him.
Are you kidding me! Angie needs to leave you alone!
*Beep*
Tell her that next time you see her.
