Third Person

The group ran down the halls of the hospital. Gray was on a stretcher as the doctors and nurses pushed it. "I'm sorry, but this is as far as you can go." Natsu wanted to argue but Laxus covered his mouth. "Okay, we'll wait." Natsu said something but it was muffled. "Don't worry about him," Gajeel said, "concerned boyfriend is he." Natsu blushed. The nurses and doctors disappeared behind a door, leaving everyone in the waiting room. Wendy and Chelia were sharing earbuds while listening to piano to call themselves, Kinana and Levy played a card game, Gajeel played on the metal bar of the chair with his drumsticks, Freed made small ruins that were jumbled and didn't mean anything, Cobra mumbled random words under his breath, Laxus watched all of this. Natsu had no way of calming himself down, he couldn't. He tried music, he tried cards, he tried singing under his breath, nothing. Natsu breathed in and out to stop his shaking and that kind of worked. When the door opened everyone stopped what they were doing. A nurse with long blonde hair and red eyes stepped out. She was removing white gloves with blood on them, this made everyone nervous again. "We saved his life," everyone sighed, "barely. He's staying in room 125, next to Rogue Cheney." That's all they needed. With that sentence Natsu and the others were down the hall in no time. The door opened up and Gray was lying down on the bed.

He had a breathing mask, tubes, an IV, he was covered in bloody bandages, and the heart monitor was the only sound besides Gray's breathing and the groups footsteps. The sound, the heart monitor, was taunting Natsu. "Beep...beep...beep....beep.....beep." Kinana grabbed Chelia's hand as if to support her and herself. Levy was crying already. And all the boys were on the brink on a breakdown like Natsu. The sound of the door opening caught everyone's attention. The doctor walked inside. "I'm sorry, are you all family?" To make sure not to be kicked out, "Yes." Laxus answered. "Alright, he has three broken ribs, a large scar on his shoulder blade, internal bleeding, and a fractured kneecap." Natsu leaned on Sting and started crying. "There is one slight irregularity-"

"Yeah cause all those things you listed were just average injuries." Freed snapped. "Don't mind him, he gets angry when he's anxious." Levy said glaring at her friend. "Gray lost a lot of blood, and due to that, he is in a coma." Silence filled the room, he felt as if his life was being torn apart. "Thankfully," There was a shimmer in Natsu's eyes. "Gray has the blood type of the universal downer, replacing is all that blood will be, while not simple, easier than it should be difficult." The doctor left.

Hours have passed and most everyone has left. "Coming Natsu?" Gajeel asked. "Nah, I'll catch up later." Laxus, Cobra, Gajeel, Wendy, and Sting left. "I have to do something, too." Sting said. he walked into Rogue's room. The last four left the hospital, knowing what they had to do. Natsu moved his chair closer to Gray's bedside, tears filling his eyes. He had already cried in front of the others, but this was a breakdown. Hundreds of tears fell down, loud sobs, and he was shaking. "Gray...I'm so sorry! This is my fault, all of it." Natsu grabbed Gray's hand and buried his head in Gray's stomach. He sobbed quietly until he couldn't cry anymore, his throat was soar, eyes were red and puffy, and he back hurt from bending down. As Natsu put his jacket on, he knew what the only way to protect Gray and the others was. Natsu pulled out his phone, finger dangling over the message app. He finally clicked it, and typed in the number.

From Natsu:

Meet me where we started it...

From 1-***-***-****:

I knew you'd come around.

From Natsu:

I'm not doing this for you!

From 1-***-***-****:

Then for who?

From Natsu:

Just meet me there!

Natsu shoved his phone in his pocket. He glanced at Gray who was breathing slowly. He listened to the heart monitor one last time. "Beep....beep...beep....beep....beep." The piercing sound ringing in Natsu's ears. "Goodbye, Gray."

Sting sat in the room. Rogue was asleep but there was music playing. Just piano music he put on his phone, most likely to help him fall asleep. Sting noticed an x-ray to the left. It was Rogue's. In the back of his skull was a large dent, it looked bad. Sting understood now how that could destroy anyone's memory. Suddenly someone mumbled something. "Sting..." It was Rogue. Sting quickly grabbed Rogue's hand. "Sting....Sting...."

"What, Rogue, what?" Sting squeezed Rogue's hand in anxiousness. But all Rogue did was repeat the name. Sting put Rogue's hand against his forehead. Tears fell down his cheeks and onto the bed. "Rogue....I never got to tell you. I love you, so much. I want to protect you, but I do-" Sting got an idea. It was painful and awful, but it was the only idea he could think of. Sting pulled out his phone.

From: Sting

Meet me...you know where

From 1-***-***-****:

Well this is interesting, what made you come around?

From Sting:

I'm doing this for someone, not you.

From 1-***-***-****:

I'll be waiting

Sting put hos phone away quickly. He looked at Rogue, his hair was over one of his eyes. Sting smiled. He leaned over to move it, but did something far different. Sting pecked Rogue's lips lightly. He stood up then headed for the door. Sting grasped the doorknob. He released it and walked back to Rogue. He kissed him once again but more passionate. He pulled back. "If you ever remember me, I'l tell you I love you a million times. Like you always forget." Sting mumbled. With a kiss to Rogue's forehead, Sting was gone.
