Shadow Assassins. Chapter 16. Born Under a Blood Moon

I couldn't believe it and I still didn't quite know how all of this was even possible but here I was finally standing before the woman who brought me into this world. She hugged me so tight all the 

while I still clung anxiously to my brothers hand. She moved back, her hands placed on my shoulders as she looked me over smiling broadly.

"Let me take a look at you" she said as she happily inspected the woman I had become.  "Wow" she whispered, a tear coming to her eye "You look exactly like I did at your age" 

I laughed then glancing quickly at Kenji before answering  "You still look my age" 

"Well that's because I'm dead. I had you both when I was just twenty two years old. Back then everything seemed perfect" she smiled, her eyes downcast.

Although my mother attempted to keep up appearances by being genuinely happy to see both of her children, I could sense a deep sadness in her when she mentioned her former life just now. 

I hesitated. "Um mom, I was just wondering. Well..." 

"What is it Kasumy?" she asked with concern touching my arm.

I glanced again at Kenji before looking to the ground, suddenly feeling very nervous and a little confused about how to go about this when Kenji placed his arm around my shoulders and spoke.

"We just got done seeing Kasumy's memories and well...she's curious as to how our dad turned out the way he did. And why he chose to separate us, abandoning her in the process"

I looked sharply at Kenji, my mouth hanging open. Was this our twin connection? Or was he reading my mind? 'Oh Kenji there is so much you need to tell me about your abilities and life' I thought to myself. 

My mother who was now facing my brother listening to him speak eventually turned her eyes to me "Is that right? You wanna know about my past?" 

"I..." I didn't finish, I just nodded. 

"Well OK then. It is why you're here after all" she smiled gesturing towards the ground "Take a seat" 

I sat down beside Kenji and quietly waited for my mother to recall her past. She rubbed her hands together and clapped before she began. 

" I was born here in Konoha to my father Yokurama Senju and my mother Aya Miyagawa. I had n..."

"Woah woah woah!! Let me just stop you there mom" I said suddenly gaining a little confidence  "Miyagawa? As in my sensei Seiji Miyagawa?" I asked turning to Kenji "Did you know about this?"

"That part I didn't know" he replied confused

"He's your cousin Kasumy" my mom cut in "Now may I finish?" she asked laughing

I nodded, forcing myself to hold all questions.
