before we even start the korean lesson, you really have to know this letter:

''
[silent, ng]

«────── « ʚɞ » ──────»

it is silent when it's at the beginning of a syllable.

•  example

"a-ppa" - dad

*the ""means an "a", see how the didn't contain a letter? it's silent, you don't pronounce it.

«────── « ʚɞ » ──────»

it is 'ng' when it's at the end of a syllable.

example
동생
「 "dongsaeng" - younger sibling 」

*the '' are at the bottom of each syllable so they're both "ng"

«────── « ʚɞ » ──────»

it's possible that the letter can appear twice in one syllable, but the rule doesn't change.

example

「 "yong" - dragon 」

*the "" is "yo."
