~Chapter Four: He won't know.~

My backpack hit against my back as I held my books to my chest on the way to my locker. Tori was standing at the front of it with Ashton and Ky. Her eyes darted around until she found me. For those who haven't guessed it yet, these three people are my best friends- My only friends.

Tori's body straightened. Uh-oh.

Bracing myself for the tackle, I shot out my arms in front of me as Tori's extra weight set me off kilter, sending me flying back into Ky's hard chest.

"PAINT! WherehaveyoubeenallsummerohmygodImissedyousomuch!" Word after word shot out of her mouth, while her hands were raised in frustration. Part of me wanted to grab her shoulders and shake her to death. The other part told me to calm down and hug the shit out of her. I picked the second choice. Our bodies clashed together in a strange way. Her arm was wrapped around my head and my shoulder was caught in her armpit.

Strange friend? Check.

As we hugged, I felt two more pairs of strong arms embrace us. The air was lacking so I ducked down, laughing. Being short is great.

"Paint, seriously." Tori got out of the bear hug, leaving Ashton and Ky in a strange embrace. "What happened to you over the summer?" My heart sank. Did I want to tell her about my uncle being in prison? Shit.

"I was just busy. No worries. I meant to text you but my phone was going shitty on me." I smiled, trying to ease her suspicions. She shrugged and took my hand, dragging me towards homeroom. Our teacher, Mr. White, waited in his desk which was covered in pictures and papers of all different kinds of stuff. Some was homework for us students, the pictures were of his family- And classes from years before.

I sighed and slid into my desk beside Ky. He looked up to me and smirked, giving me a small wave. I nodded back to him in response, and he looked down at his notebook scribbling a few things. He was probably drawing.

Then a 'EEEURRPP' sung out from the loud speaker, cueing the beginning of school and morning homeroom. I got up from my desk, putting my hand to my heart, restating the Pledge of Allegiance. When I slid back into my desk, a note sat on the dark wood. It was from Ky.

"I expect to see a certian someone at Starbucks today. ;) "

I tilted my head as I scanned the note over, also checking the other side of the small piece of torn paper. I leaned down on the right side of my desk, opening my bag to grab my pen. I scribbled back.

"Oh yeah? Who is the special lady?"

I chucked the tiny folded piece of paper back at his desk and waited for him to open it.
