Lots of love to those who read my little piece of story. And even a little more to those who commented and voted.

There's a picture just so you could imagine the scene.

I'm so glad my story was liked :)

Here it goes..

We Can be Good Friends

"Wow" I exclaimed, as my eyes got stuck, and I filled my lungs with the chilly, yet warm, soft air around us.

Ryan pulled over the car, where we had a broad river flowing by, in front of us. Beyond that , there were dark green evergreen tress, which finally gave way to greyish-green mountains.

Behind us, was the road which had brought us here, which bend itself a 100 metres away, where it finally disappeared , into the jungle.

"It is wonderful" Ryan exclaimed with a slight pressure on the syllable "ful", with his hands still on the steering wheel, and a foot on the brake.

My loosed hairs, had stopped bothering me.
Though I was never that girl, so serious about the appearance.

It doesn't matter as long as you don't care.

But I took a glance at the rear view mirror, just to make sure I looked fresh and not tired, cause I didn't have a full four-hours of sleep last night.

I took out my right legged-red-heel out of the car, on the pebbles, covered with thin greenish-Yellow grasses, as Ryan pulled the hand brake.

It made a sound of pebbles being crashed under rollers.

As soon as I got out, a cold morning breeze from the river, surpassed my body, causing me to shiver. I took another deep breath. And released it.

Ryan has got down by now. And we glanced at each other the second time, from either sides of the car with two sweet smiles on each of our faces.

We walked in front of it.

Now we were facing the river, the forest, the mountains.

"Pearl, come with me now." he said walking towards me and held the wrist of my left hand.

Oh my god! What! He just held my hand!

And I flashbacked in a moment.

These hands had touched only once. Long back, in the classroom, when in grade 8th.

He was a good bright student and was too popular in sports. He was the best athlete.

Sometimes, it so happened that teachers got too busy or they were absent and nobody else was sent to the class.
Boys at that stage, at adolescence, are too eager to prove themselves stronger than the others. And Ryan was one of them.

Therefore.

The whole class was mad to play "Arm wrestling " to find out the strongest.

From one corner, I watched everyone play the game. Specially, Ryan. I used to eagerly watch him play. He competed with bigger and taller boys too.

I was never doubtful, I don't know why, but I knew he would always win. I sneaked at him, so carefully, lest anyone comes to know, I had that "crush" on him.

Soon, not just boys but the girls too couldn't resist from playing this.
Though, for most of them it was just fun. But for me, I wanted to show that I was the strongest of all girls so as to be compared with Ryan.

Then the most craziest thing happened. One of the girls shouted,"Hey Ryan, though you are winning, I don't think you will win against Pearl!" "She is the strongest. "

Ofcourse he didn't come then. But he had heard the rumours that had spread around the class, that I was the winner among the girls.

And I was just smiling that big smile.

Later, he came to my desk, and asked me, "Okay then, Pearl let's play!" He obviously knew, he,being a boy, was far more stronger than me. But he asked. And some of the girls began encouraging me to play, though they were never that supportive. I hated everyone but one.

Those girls, pretty as birds, cunning as fox, light as an empty brain.

I feel like laughing at that girl now, who was smiling shyly and was saying,"I won't play Ryan, you'll obviously win! "

But then, the poor shy girl put her arm on the desk, and her hand was soon in the grip of those wild, rough hands.

I just kept smiling.

Smile... I tried not to. But I just couldn't help. Those facial muscles didn't let me. Oh no... I kept smiling.

Before I could lay my strength in that wresting, the bell rung. Then the worst happened. All the girls, came over at my desk and pushed my hand so I could win.

And all of that ended, when he left. I'm still angry at those girls.

"There's a boat !" I shouted as I pointed out my fingers towards it" It's wooden, Ryan!"

"Pearl, I have never heard you shout like that!"Ryan said, still holding my wrist.

And I was shy again. "And we are going on a ride on that very boat. " Ryan said.

I was silent now. Why did I shout! Maybe because I have never seen a wooden boat before.

And yet, I haven't been alone with somebody. I have not done things a girl of my age should have done already.

There is much more in this world to see.

I liked the rough sound we made while waking over the pebbles and the grass, until we reached the worned-out stairs by the river's edge.

Oh my god! The breeze seems rushing through all the veins buried under my skin.

The water was glistening due to the sweet sun rays. A cool air was blowing every now and then, making the slow movements in my white-flowery frock and Ryan's white T-shirt.

It was all too quiet and peaceful. It was something I couldn't imagine. It was a feeling beautiful and mysterious , when I realized my heart has become much lighter. I felt like I was up, in a Giant Wheel.

Author's note :

In the story I wrote about flashbacks. Flashbacks will reveal the relation Ryan and Pearl had before. Knowing their past is important, I guess. This will also bring us closer to their characters.
I do not think this is that good. But if you liked it please leave a vote. That really means a lot to the writer. Or if I had made mistakes, point me out, and also tell me why did you like or dislike it in the comments. That makes me real happy. That will also encourage me.
Love you *;)
