She's a girl who helps me with anything, and puts me first.
"For the last time, Gracie. I was just teasing him so he won't tease me! Just lay it down, would you," I begged.
"But, you need a boyfriend," she protested.
"Well, I'll just wait for the right person that is able to go through my heart, Theo and my dear brother, Justin. It won't be that easy, Grace," I remind her for the uptienth time. Lately, she has been getting on my nerves about this topic.
"Just let me rest before someone new enters my life and gives me a new set of headaches, please?" her features softened. I was really stressed with the problems I already have in hand. She sighed and smiled guiltily, understanding in her eyes.
I closed my eyes, thinking about everything I was going through. I let out a sigh of stress. Everything was so fudged up in my life.
"Sorry, Ash. I just thought you finally found the one. You know, love at first sight..." she trailed off when she noticed my eyes were still closed.
"Ash? Ashlynn? Are you okay? It's happening again! What do I do? Uh... Justin's in Chem now. Ash, just hold on, okay? Deep breaths!"
I was feeling really giddy at the moment. My head was throbbing furiously, taunts filling my mind. As the door slammed open, making a loud noise, my head throbbed even more. I felt a pill being slipped into my mouth and water washing it to my throat.
"Swallow, Ashlynn. Come on, you can do it," a familiar, soothing voice calmed me as I opened my eyes to see 3 faces staring down at me worriedly. Gracie, Theo and Justin.
My breaths, which I didn't realise turned to pants, calmed down. My head leaned against a wall behind me. Hope that never happens again.
Wait, how did I get down here?
~.~.~.~.~.~
All my problems were being tossed at me at once. I couldn't just sit there and let my thoughts get the best of me. I got up from my bed and thought of what to do.
After my little incident just now, we were all excused home as the school was worried for me. I think. No one other than Gracie, Theo and my family knows about my condition. I mean it's kinda private having-
"Ow!" I yelled as my forehead and nose came into contact with the wall. Justin and Theo's heads popped out from Theo's room, the attic. Yes, Theo comes over so often, Mom and Dad got irritated of his things being placed everywhere so they gave him the only available space.
"Did you just-"
"Hit the wall?" They both laughed at the same time. Ugh, boys. I scoffed in reply, rolled my eyes and walked away. I walked down the stairs and towards the kitchen. Ahem. Anyways, as I was saying, it's kinda private hav-
"Ahh!" I screamed as I stubbed my toe on the dining table.
"You okay, honey?" my parents asked. The thing is, Dad is in the living room while Mum was in the office. Mum's head popped out of the room (dejavu) and they looked at each other. What are they even doing at home?
The look they were giving each other scared me. Oh, I know that look. Ah, shit. I ran and hid under the same table I stubbed my toe at. We may be enemies but we have to protect as many people (and things) as possible at times like this.
Unfortunately, they were unaware of the table's and my own's fear as they continued on dancing their solo to the song 'Fake Love' by Drake. I could only afford to watch in horror as I slowly realised that these are my parents. Hecks sake, I came out of one of them.
Sense was then knocked into my brain. Where is the song coming from? I fidgeted under the table, accidentally hitting my head in the process. For once, I was thankful for that.
That was my ringtone! I got out form my position, hitting my head a couple more times.
Surprisingly, I didn't really mind. The only goal I have at the moment is to end the torture to my eyes, by picking up the phone.
Unfortunately, my phone was beside my parents. I guess I just have to sacrifice myself for the table. I ran as fast as I could towards my parents' direction. I grabbed my phone and jumped onto the couch, answering the phone.
"Hello?" I called out, panting.
"You okay? Are you running a marathon? Without me?" The voice was unfamiliar to me. I looked at my phone screen curiously, at the caller ID. It was Theo's phone but that was definitely not his voice. I should know.
"Who's this? Why are you using this phone?" I asked, ignoring the facts that he talked to me as if he knew me. Luckily, my parents went back to their room shortly after realising that the song has ended. They would have eavesdropped on my conversation.
The stranger chuckled. "I forgot you have never heard my voice before. Haha. Anyway, why don't you come over. I promise I won't hurt your precious...boy" he says. That's when I realise he was whispering. Upon instinct, I yell the loudest I can,
"Mom! Consider me gone!" I do that quite often when I'm in a hurry, so they're used to it.
Funny story though, the first time I did it, I came home and immediately couldn't breathe. Why? My family hugged the death out of me. Now you know why I'm not dead. Even death was afraid of my family.
Anyways...
So, I rush (more like fall off the couch – pretty sure I'll get a concussion) out of the house and into the street, ready to save the clumsy, silly, idiotic boy I call my best friend.
