Chapter 17

Isla's POV...

The one thing I love about Ryder is, he never says a word. He just holds me close. I never have to be embarrassed about crying around him, after all he is my best friend.

"Thank you" I said to Ryder, lightly kissing him on the cheek before indulging him in cuddles.

"Come on" he said. "Go get ready, I'm taking you for dinner"

"For dinner?" I asked, I really hope he wasn't taking me to some stuck up posh place, I have no motivation in me to actually make an effort with my presentation.

"Don't worry, where only going to McDonald's" see this boy knows me so well, I am a cheap date. "Just put some joggers on or something, no one will see you"

After dressing as low key as possible in a pair of nike joggers and a tee, we where on the road to McDonald's.

I love it when me and Ryder are doing something like this, just so simple. I'm not a girl that wants the diamonds or the fancy restaurants. I am happy enough with a take out in front of the tele. I wasn't like most girls, everyone knew that. I was unpredictable, that's what makes me able to keep Ryder on his toes.

Once we'd both ordered our Big Mac meals we headed toward the rocks on the hills, over looking the ocean.

"I want to ask you a question" Ryder interrupted.

My heart beat was beating ten to the dozen and I had no idea why, I just had that gut feeling that whatever he was abouts to say wasn't going to be good.

"I know we have something that's really good, and I love the way we are. But are we both aloud to date other people?"

A huge lump formed in my throat. My gut fell to the floor, I don't know why I felt like this. Me and Ryder are only bestfriends with the occasional benefit. It wasn't like I loved him or anything?

"Isla" Ryder said, trying to get my attention.

"Yeah sure, I'm fine with that"

The truth was I didn't know weather I was fine with it or not, I didn't want to over think it anyway. Maybe I let him get to me too much, the best way to not get hurt is to act like you don't give a fuck and that's exactly what I was going to do.

Isla's POV...

The following day when I walked into school I skipped my normal routine of going to stand with Ryder whilst he flirted with me profoundly, trying to show everyone I was his. It was like no boy would even come close just like I was Ryder's property. Well today that was about to change.

No more soft Isla. I walked past Ryder to see his smile soon drop to the floor as I walked on by. I'd had enough of the bad boy winning, I had a few tricks up my sleeve.

Walking down the corridor was Logan. Logan was in my triple science class and was a really cheeky person. Naive, but cheeky all the same. The one thing Ryder hated was seeing me flirt with other boys, shame. I accidentally, on purpose bumped into Logan, dropping my books onto the ground in shock.

"Hey watch where your going" I snapped, whilst picking my books off the ground.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry" he said.

Just as I looked up, his glittering green eyes where on mine. I lingered into his eyes as I kept the eye contact a little while longer. He blushed under my gaze. I know, it's cheesy right? something that would happen in movies, but if it make me one step closer to get him into bed who cared? Isla wins.

I looked up at Ryder to see him burning holes in the back of Logan's head.

Sorry for not updating in a while! Got a lot on lately with my exams just started but I'll try and update as quickly as possible.

I hope you enjoy this chapter, things are turning sour again between the pair.

Is it love or is it hate?
