I'd been working in the hospital since the night I sent Robyn off to meet her mate at the border. She'd cried for a good hour, bowing and carrying on until we basically pushed her into the car.

I'd been working all day and my shift was about to end when suddenly my heart picked up speed again. That's strange. A stretcher rolled passed me and I thought I'd faint. He lay there unconscious and bleeding with gashes on his face and chest and I thought I'd been skewered. Mate.

"Stop!" I thundered. The nurses froze. I ran up to them and quickly examined him. He'd survive. I nodded at them quickly as we headed to the ER. They gave me a quick briefing.

Apparently there had been a brawl outside the pub where he'd been drinking. The bystander that called the ambulance had said Sebastian was apparently there drinking with one other person - a male thank goddess and that at some point when he left the pub, he left alone he was followed out by a large group of men who tore into him down the street. I fumed in anger silently.

Who where these people and why was he there alone? Where did his partner disappear? Why did he drink so much?

For a good half hour we worked at stabilizing him. Gave him blood and dressed his wounds. He woke up shortly after and I felt all sorts of birds and butterflies storming throughout my body. He's okay.

Be cool. Be cool. I chanted as I finished dressing his chest. A quick glance at his face and I saw an arrogant smirk there. I glared back turning to walk away.

"Keira?" He croaked. I froze. Unable to walk away. I shouldn't give in this quickly.

"You were drunk." I said, my back still to him. "Who were you fighting?" I'd kill them.

He chuckled, but it came out as a cough. I quickly turned to prop him up.

"Don't do that! You might be bleeding internally. We need to scan you." I reprimanded.

He smirked, damn that dimpled half smile. "Don't worry too much, I'm still opening up the theme park complex here." I grit my teeth. Leaning in to hear him better.

"Who were you fighting?" I repeated.

"So you didn't send those thugs?" He asked softly.

I gave him an astonished look. "Of course not!" I was offended and enraged. What did he think I was some mafia ringleader? Who the fuck attacked him?

He smiled. "I was only teasing doctor. I was drunk." As if that was all the explanation needed.

"I know." I sighed dipping my head down in exhaustion. "I said that." Silence. "Listen, we need to know who attacked you so we can file a police report."

He shrugged. "I'm not filing a report."

I glared at him. "Fine. Just tell me who it was."

He grinned. "You'll beat them up for me? You're so cute Keira." My heart skipped and face flooded with colour. He leaned upward suddenly and in my daze I didn't register when he pecked me on the cheek. So naturally I yelped and unceremoniously leapt away, falling on my bum.

"Keira!" He called out. I groaned. He was still drunk and slightly medicated. I had to get out of here. But I couldn't. I got up still flushed and moved back to glare at him.

"How dare you?" I glowered. "Who the heck do you think you are?" Adorable. Sexy. Charming.

He hummed quietly closing his eyes still grinning. "I couldn't help it."

"Well help it!" I tried to sound firm but it came out more like a plea than a demand.

I stood there silently just staring at him for what felt like hours.

"Keira?"  He whispered softly.

"Yes?" My voice sounding a tad to breathy.

"Can I ask you something?" His amber eyes piercing into my hazel ones.

"Go on."

"Do you believe in love at first sight?" What?! I wanted to scream. Could he not stop? I was heading for a heart attack here.

I cleared my throat, nervously. "No, why?"

He looked dissapointed. Oh mate, of course I do. You're mine. No wait no. You should be mine.

"Because I find I quite like you." He whispered innocently. Sebastian Carter liked me. I smiled. I thought humans took their time falling in love.

"I appreciate it." I replied. Internally screaming in joy.

"It's not love or anything." He quickly added. "I just think...you're nice."

And there it is. I huffed in annoyance. Of course he doesn't love me, he's a bloody human. I glared at him.

"That's fine, sir." I bit out. "My duty time is up. I hope you recover quickly. Goodbye." Turning on my heel I quickly stepped away.

"Wait!" He called out, quickly ending up in fit of coughs. "Stay for a bit, please."

Don't do it Keira. We're both feeling very different things. Don't do this to yourself. "Sebastian, I'm busy. I'll come see you later." I mumbled, before exiting the hospital. My heart sinking as I left the emergency complex. They better take care of that bastard.

Meanwhile...

Carlton Dickson. The most powerful sorcerer in the Faerie realm lay in his bed as his faerie masseuses rubbed his back and legs. The war had left his muscles in quite the bind.

"So where are my captives?" He called out. His bright green eyes flashed as the doors opened and his servants brought out the two new captive faeries. He could  taste the anger and confusion rolling off them. And it tasted good.

"State your names, peasants."

"Melody." One of them responded. The other remained silent. She had power enough to resist? How cute.

"And yours, little faerie?" He asked his power seeping off into her.

"J-June." She breathed. Glaring at him all the while. He flashed them a toothy smile.

"Welcome."
