"Oh fuck." I breathed. My heart beating erratically as I struggled to keep my breathing steady.

He walked past me to a group of middle aged business men. I couldn't have fallen this early.

I slapped my hand on my forehead in frustration.

"Oh god, Keira! What's the big deal?" Sam, my good friend, searched my face for signs of illness. I looked away.

"I-It's nothing." I breathed, glancing at the demon casually chatting away with his flock of money makers. But the fluttering in my stomach said otherwise. I groaned. "You've got to be joking." I groaned, almost crying out in anger.

"Are you ill? Or have you lost it, Keira?" Sam chuckled.

I turned to look at her with a forced composure. "I'm in trouble." I whispered, pulling her away by the elbow.

"What is it?" All trace if humour had left her voice. The bubbly red head had quickly picked up the seriousness of the situation.

After dragging her into a corner, far away from the other guests, I released her. I steadied my breathing.

"He's...I'm feeling...that is, I think he's my..." I struggled to find the words, trying to explain this emotion with that deplorable man.

She looked confused for a moment until finally she understood what I was hinting at. She quickly covered her face suppressing the obvious grin she had plastered on her face. I glared at her.

"Sebastian Carter. Come on Keira, that's pretty funny." She chuckled.

I let out a light growl. "No it is not. This is about as bad as it could get!"

Pushing away her smile she tried to calm me down. "You can do this. Look it's you! If anyone could handle this it's you. Besides it could play in our advantage..."

"How?! He's not going to feel all dizzy and lightheaded with this...this...satanic emotion! How could I be put at such a disadvantage?" I slapped my forehead again. Why goddess? Why?

"You can do this, Alpha. Go." Sam nudged me towards him. Grudgingly I made my way towards him. My heart beating faster every step I took. I stepped up to him blocking out the inappropriate visuals that kept creeping into my head.

I cleared my throat. "Mr. Carter?"

He whipped his pretty little head searching for me. He looked down. "Oh, Miss Lotte." He smiled. Fuck me. "How can I help?" Fuck me? I thought laughing internally.

No, focus. I gave him my serious look. "It's about your business. We've been trying to get in touch with you and..."

"Oh yes, sorry Keira." Thump. "I never replied, did I? I'm afraid we can't back out from our contract and the deal will go on as planned." He said. I almost sighed happily listening to his deep calming voice. Almost.

"Mr. Carter, you have to understand. Your business will fail here. Our town is the most unwelcoming there is. We don't even..."

"I thank you for your concern, Miss Lotte." That was the second time he cut me off. "But the deal will go on."

"You won't cut me off again, Sebastian." I say sternly, letting the surprise pass across his handsome face. "We are not a tourist friendly town. Either cut the deal, or watch your investment sink. You're choice." My heart was not calming down, but this was bigger than me and I had to protect my pack.

He turned his body completely towards me and cocked his head. Goddess why did you make him so cute?

"Is that a...threat?" He asked. The arrogant hint of a smirk flared up my anger. How dare this...this human talk to me this way?
