"Not likely." He joked humorlessly. "But thanks." He kissed me again then went out through the window. I checked my phone and saw that Betty was having a crisis because she tried to tell Archie how she felt but he was not paying attention. I just texted her back saying he had a lot going on. I soon fell asleep after that. I woke up to my early alarm going off. I rolled out of bed and hopped in the shower. After that I blow dried my hair and got my makeup on. I went over to my closet and picked out a simple outfit of black, ripped, skinny jeans, and a maroon v neck shirt that had straps across the front that criss-crossed. I grabbed my backpack, and the few school items I had (I missed out on school shopping with Betty). I decided to just get lunch at school because I knew my dad had put money on my lunch card. I grabbed my phone, said bye to my dad and brothers, then headed out the door. It was only a ten minute walk to school so I was doing alright on time.

There were metal detectors at the front doors. I set my backpack on the table to send it through then I walked through the detectors. I didn't beep so I grabbed my backpack and was ushered through by a security guard. The hallways were already bustling and I needed to find the front office to get my schedule and ask where my first class was. I made my way through the halls and finally found it. I talked to the lady at the front and she gave me my schedule and pointed me in the right direction. I couldn't shake the look she gave me when she heard my name. It was a knowing but pitying look. She must've known my mother.

I made my way to homeroom and grabbed a seat in the very back. I saw a familiar face walk through the door and look around. It was Joaquin from the Twilight. He looked over at me and saw my resting bitch face. He seemed to hastate then walk over.

"This seat taken?" He asked, pointing next to me. I shook my head no. I was trying to keep a hard exterior. I didn't want people to assume I was an easy target. "There's going to be some guys coming in here soon. Don't let them get to you." I raised an eyebrow at his warning but didn't have to wait for long for an explanation.

"Fresh meat." A big muscle guy with dark hair and tattoos said. I rolled my eyes. He and his cronies took spots surrounding Joaquin and me. The one that spoke walked up to my desk. I had a clear shot at kicking his crotch if I needed to.

"What do you want?" I asked, clearly bored.

"I just wanted to say welcome." He sneered. "I'm called Weatherman. Want to know why? Cuz I'm predicting giving you six to eight inches tonight." His buddies all laughed.

"Really? Because usually the weathermen predict six to eight but all I end up getting is two to four." I shrugged easily. A big "ooooh!" erupted as more people started coming in and paying attention to what was going on.

"I'm six four. Do you really think I'd have a two to four inch dick?" He challenged.

"It's not unheard of. Especially because you seem to be overcompensating." I replied with a smirk. "Now fuck off. I'm bored of you already."

"I can make your life hell." He warned.

"Ditto. So call a truce now and we won't have to worry about each other. Trust me, you'll want me on your side. Not against." I offered as if it were more of a burden for me than him.

"Alright. I think that could happen."He said then quietly added, "Just don't shut me down again." This boy was not used to being told no. But he wasn't stupid enough to pass up an alliance.

"So is Weatherman what you actually go by or do you have a name I could call you?" I asked, softening a bit.

"Clyde." He responded, "And you're Rosalina."

"Yep." I nodded. "So I guess you've heard of me."

"My parents work with your dad. Plus, I was at the drive in the other night. I wanted to see if you still had that fire or if it was just a onetime thing." He admitted.

"We're gonna take role." The bored teacher at the front of the room said. They started going off the role while everyone sat down. We had about fifteen minutes before actual classes started.

"You don't back down from a fight, do you?" Joaquin asked me.

"Not when I know I can win it." I replied. "Little boys are easy. Girls, though? I can't win with them. They're harder to figure out."

"Girls are easy to figure out." Joaquin said.

"Oh really? What about me?" I asked him.

"Too easy." He smirked without looking at me. I rolled my eyes. "But that's not a bad thing."

"How is not being complicated a good thing?" I snorted.

"Hard exterior but soft interior. Hard when it counts but soft when it matters. Loyalty, that's undeniable but only if earned. Brainy, but not flaunted. Good head on your shoulders, but looking for a bad reputation." He listed off.

"That's a lot of but's." I mused.

"Was I wrong though?" He asked.

"Not really. You've got a gift." I smiled. "Your girlfriend must love that. Or hate it."

"If I had a boyfriend I'm sure he'd hate it. Guys are where I seem to have a block, which in my case, sucks." He chuckled. Oh...that makes sense.

"How about I help you with guys and you help me with girls?" I asked.

"Are you trying to be my friend?" He asked

"Yeah, actually, I am." I replied. He just shrugged so I took it as a yes. The conversation dropped there but it wasn't an uncomfortable silence. The bell rang and Joaquin pointed me in the direction of my first class. One of Clyde's goons was in my class so I sat next to him. I felt like I almost had a set of body guards with the guys here. There are perks of being Serpent Royalty, I guess. Lunch wasn't too bad. I sat next to Joaquin and some of his friends. The south side was definitely split into Serpents and non-Serpents. I was on the Serpent side even though I definitely was not one officially. The rest of the student body seemed to get the memo that I was off limits, all except one.
