The Dark Knight and Amazon's Fallen Infinity

Chapter 3

--Diana's/Wonder Woman's POV--

I could not control my body...it was like someone else was controlling it for me. All I can remember is coming to Themyscira, Batman and I going to my mother, then seeing batman collapse, and I blacked out. Did my mom have anything to do with this? Or was there something else she wasn't telling me?Every time Ares would command me to do something, my body would control me. I tried to fight my body, but it wouldn't work. Then, batman is standing right in front of me.

He was standing in front of me, and I had no idea what I was suppose to do. "Diana", yelled Ares, "kill h.." He was cut off as he was hit by an incoming batarang from batman. "Diana, we don't have time for this, we have more important matters." I heard batman's voice, but it was just too hard for me to control my body.I pulled my lasso from my belt, and started whipping it around my head. I finally had the strength to shout, "Ares, stop this madness or you will pay with my wrath!!" As Ares got off the floor, rubbing his head, he said, "Princess, you can't stop my creation, another disease has taken over your body, and it will take about 200 years for it to come out." I stare at Batman, and I can see his grim face under his dark mask. "Diana, I'm going to do something that will probably be a little uncomfortable, but it will get that disease out of your body." I replied, "Whatever you have to do, just get this thing out of me!" He moved with such grace and delicately, I hardly felt his lips as he pressed them against mine.

There was something hot and bubbly inside of me as he kissed me, then I felt something leave my body. As he pulled away I looked into his eyes, and I saw a spark of light in them. "How did you know that would work?" I asked. "I'll explain later, right now we have bigger problems." He pointed to my mothers throne room, and I saw my mother lying on the marble floor as Ares was running in the opposite direction. Batman smirked at me then asked, "You ready Princess?" I smiled at him, and said, "I'm the Amazonian princess, I was born ready."

We reached Ares, and Batman had been explaining his plan all the way there. Ares was holding his boom box in one hand, and a bottle with a liquid in it in the other hand. Batman nodded his head and disappeared into the bushes and the trees, the attack had begun. Right before ares hit the button to go back to the underworld, I grabbed the boom box with my lasso and crushed it in my hand. "Ah, princess so your partner found a cure! Very surprised how a mortal could do such a thing!" Why did he always compare himself to different people, and this was my partner he was talking about too. All this anger rose up inside of me, and I flew to him as he stood there. I started pounded his face into the ground until I couldn't do it any longer. Ares laughed as he got up and said, "You done princess or you want more?" I was about to attack him again as I saw Batman run up behind and stick an arrow into his arm. He flipped over him by holding onto his shoulders, and came and stood next to me. Ares stared at Batman, at the arrow, and then laughed. "You think a small arrow can hurt a god?!?" Batman was so calm about it but you could hear that dark voice as he said, "Well, Diana gave this "mere mortal" enough time to mix my blood, that has the poison in it, and and a rare plant I've been researching that's on Themyscira that contains liquid that is acid. By mixing that, it stops your powers and strength for ummm let me think about seven months. Then I laced the tip of the arrow with this mixture. You still think I'm a "mere mortal"? I tried to stop my self from laughing, but then noticed Ares was getting angry. As he charged towards batman, he had already been ready. Taking his black knuckle weapons out of his belt, he moved out of the way and hit Ares in the back with a nerve strike. I sat on. Nearby rock just watching him have fun. I'll let him have this fight because was locked in a prison, beaten by Ares, and almost died by the hands of me.

He kept punching and teasing Ares with fake punches and kicks. However, he knew he was wasting time, he could of taken him down five minutes ago. He ran towards Ares and as he did he spun and did a spinning side kick to his face, and finished it off with a knee to the face. Ares fell to the ground in groans, and Batman started walking to the aircraft. As he was rubbing his wrists, I asked him, "Did you have fun?" He didn't respond instead he said, "Your mother was being controlled by Ares, it wasn't her fault, even though she did lock me up and do tests on me."

We reached the aircraft, and Batman said, "You steer, I have stuff to do." I nodded my head as he collapsed into his chair. As few minutes into the flight, I asked him if he wanted me to contact the Justice League. I asked him one more time, but he didn't responded. As I looked over my shoulder, I saw him slumped in his chair with his sleeve up. I put the plane on independent flight, and walked over to him. As I looked closer, his whole arm was purple and green with his veins popping out, and then were reaching all over his neck and getting bigger. I shouted his name and gently shook him, but he didn't respond. I was freaking out and had no idea what to do.

I called Martin Manhunter on my com and ask him what to do. I sent him a scan of his body vitals, and he says there is some kind of poison inside of him, and it's spreading...quickly. "You have to get blood from the part of his body that hadn't been affected from the poison yet, then take that blood and mix it with yours. Just a little of yours because you have a faster healing mechanism in your body. Mix both of your bloods, and then get water and liquid from the plants at the town square. It'll help his immune system fight off the toxins. Mix all those and give it to him in a needle. I have to go there's trouble here, if it works just send me a message. Good luck." After getting all the ingredients, I pray to Hera to help him, and put the needle into his arm.

Five minutes pass and I'm pacing the ship. "What if he doesn't wake up? What if I failed him at Themyscira? What about what happened at Themyscira?!?! After thinking about more than fifty thoughts, I sit down and drift into a deep sleep.

"Diana, Diana!!!!" I wake up to Batman pulling at my shoulder. As I see his face, I jump out of my seat, and hug him. "Ahmmm." Batman says. "Oh sorry, it's just that, umm it's good to have you back. I awkwardly pat him on the shoulder. He asks, "How'd you get the poison out of my system?" I respond, "I called J'onn and he told me what to do, and I also used my brains too! Your not the only detective here." I turn around and he is standing so close to me, I can feel his breath on my face. "Well, I did save your life back at your home, so we are even, and about what happened...let's just keep that between ourselves." He turns away and hits the computer that projects a picture off of it. I smirk because of the comment he said too me.

"So, since the toxin was here, Ares must of had suppliers coming from someone else. I'm going to contact the other leaguers to see if they have any connections." I replied to him, "I'm sorry about what happened back there." Batman turned around with a confused look on his face and said, "What?" I walked closer to him and said, "On Themyscira, when I was trying to kill you, I just couldn't control anything, and I felt so stupid, weak and useless." He placed his hands on my shoulders and said, "Diana, there was nothing you could do about it, you are the strongest person I know, that's even including Superman. You are not only strong physically, but also in here." He placed his finger on the top of my forehead and then on my heart. He suddenly blinked and quickly took his hands off of my shoulders, turned, and started contacting the league. I thought to myself, "With him being all scary and full of darkness, what could of caused him so much pain?"

"They came in contact with Lex Luthor, Brainiac, and Cheetah. Seems like all the villains are having their own slumber party, and we weren't invited." I tried not to laugh at his comment, and asked him, "If they came in contact with them did they get any information from them?" He responded, "Yes, and we are going to have to go back to the watchtower to get new supplies and extra things." I asked confusingly, "Why? We have enough new supplies in the plane." He looked at me with white mask eyes and said, "Diana, we are going to need more than just a few supplies, our next visit is Darkseid."

Sorry it soo long to update, I wanted to make it as long as I could because I had missed updating in two weeks.
