After the events that occurred in the bar, the matron, nicknamed Mama Bear for her warm yet powerful nature, showed them to their rooms upstairs. They have been given two rooms; one for the boys and the other for the girls. "Man~ these beds are comfortable. I feel like I'm sinking into the mattress and falling into a world of fluff." Lucy says as she falls back onto her bed. The room is relatively wide with four beds, one for each of the girls, a pair of desks and a table at the centre. "Indeed, this place seems almost too good." Erza states with a suspicious tone. "Don't tell me you think the villagers are up to something? Wendy asks.

In the other room, Gray and Natsu and Happy have all fallen asleep after being caressed by the magnificent bedding. The next day, the group decides to split up and explore the town in different areas. Natsu and Happy have chosen to walk over to a group of fire mages setting up and asking if they wanted his help, Wendy, Carla and Erza have discovered a small sweets shop, Gray is being lectured by an elderly lady about his stripping as blue haired girl watches from behind a nearby post and Lucy is eating breakfast in Mama Bears inn with Turra.

"So Natsu is a fire dragon slayer, Wendy is a sky dragon slayer and Gray is an ice demon slayer...that's...Amazing!" After Lucy tells the curious scholar about her team, Turra's excitement grows to an immense level. "I-is that so?" Lucy replies, slightly taken aback by the mans glee. "Indeed! Actually, my main area of study is lost magic. It intrigues me to no end, the power that these magics hold. In fact, I've recently been researching God slayer magic. That's the reason I'm here in this village in the first place. Uprunna, the god of magic." Tires states excitedly. "The-the god of magic?" Lucy is once again taken aback by the title. "Indeed. Would you like to hear the legend?" Turra says, eyes sparkling in anticipation. "I-I suppose." Lucy immediately regrets opening the flood gate that is Turra's mouth.

"Well, it all goes back to before Fiore was Fiore. When this small village was the largest city in the country. Back then, this place was known as 'the city of magic' as every citizen was a mage, and a powerful one at that. They all revered a being that made its home within the ethereal plane. The God of magic, Uprunna. This being, made of pure magic, had the power to bend reality to its whim, yet it never did. It allowed the world to take shape on its own, interfering only to bless this world with magic. The city at the time, was so close to its abode that its power would leak into the air during certain times in the year, turning the sky red and thickening the air with its power. The people of the city knew this, and thought of it as their god granting them a small portion of its power as thanks to them for their constant worship. This stability lasted for 100 years, until a group of mages from another country arrived in the town. One of these mages, a god slayer, could feel the power within the gods mountainous abode and took his companions to seek the deity. The village history states that not long after the mages embarked on their trip up the mountain, that the sky was once again dyed with red. This time however, the citizens did not gain any power, instead, they had it siphoned from them. They could feel their magic being drained towards the volcano, leaving them weak and barely mobile. It was after this, that the mountain erupted in furious spout of molten magma, and at the centre, a shining crimson being held the god slayer by his throat. Moments later, the city was overcome by the magma and few escaped. When a second group of mages who were passing by happened to see this, they worked to save what was left of the city, rescuing a small amount of trapped people. As they watched the scene from a distance, a second light filled the air. This Blue light was small but powerful, and emanated from the god slayer. Moments later, the magma was gone, the mountain completely devoid of flames, the mage had disappeared, and the God Uprunna had been sealed within a Goliath of stone. Ever since then, the remaining people worked to rebuild, opting to create a small village rather than a city, and pray for the day that their God returns to them."

Turra finishes his story and looks over to Lucy who seems to be relatively frightened rather than intrigued. "What's wrong?" Turra asks. "It's just... we've gone up against someone with the ability to change the world before and we almost lost a lot of people." Lucy says, reminded of their battle a little over a year ago. "You mean Zeref yes?" Turra asks, seemingly over informed. "Y-yeah, how did you-?" Lucy is unable to finish her question before Turra cuts her off. "It's my job to know." Turra says proudly. "O-oh..."

The sound of someone barging into the Inn distracts them from their conversation, causing them to look up and see a pair of men, both heavily injured as they collapse on the ground. The matron, Mama Bear, immediately rushes over to them, as does another young mage who begins administering healing magic within moments. "What happened to you boys?!" Mama Bear asks in shocked concern. One of the men, after receiving treatment, is able to mutter something. "It was that heretic... he attacked us while we were setting up in the mountain..."

"That little...!" Mama Bear angrily clenches her fist, about to race out the door herself before she is stopped by a female voice from behind. "What's wrong? Do you need any help?" It was Lucy, asking the woman if they required any help with their situation. Mama Bear turns to face her with a smile on her face; a smile that Lucy could tell had ulterior motives. "That would be fantastic! To have a group of Fairy Tail mages take care of the villages biggest problem would be a godsend. You see, for a while now, there's been a boy, not much older than you lot that's been going around attacking our villagers at any chance he gets." Mama Bear explains. "Is that so? But isn't everyone in this place a mage? How is it that he's able to take on everyone?" Lucy asks, trying to understand the situation. Mama Bear and the other patrons look around, wondering what to tell her before Mama Bear once again speaks up. "The people of this village have had weakened magic ever since that day the God slayer appeared. This boy has no such problems." Mama Bear says. "Okay? But what kind of magic does he use?" Lucy continues her questioning, now extremely suspicious of their intent. "...nullification magic." Mama Bear reluctantly tell Lucy. "I don't think I've ever heard of that before." Lucy says curiously. "I have. It's a type of complex magic that cancels out any magic the user touches while using it." Turra chimes in. "Exactly. I'm sorry if we seemed adverse in our explanation but, you see..." Mama Bears words fade off. "As a village that worships a god of magic, a mage that can cancel out magic would probably be seen as something heretical right?" Turra asks. "Yes." Mama Bear replies simply. "Alright. We'll head up there and see what we can do then." Lucy says with confidence.
