Hello WattPad! CathamishTeen here!
Welcome to my book! If you missed the description I already wrote about this book here is a brief explanation to get you started. (Keep in mind I suck at explaing things so please forgive me.)
Gwen Speculum lives what most people would call a relatively normal life despite the fact she's living on an army post in an undisclosed location. She's a bit of a tomboy, has a best friend, and has a killer babysitting job for the local kids. So everything is going swell for her until The Glitch shows up. The Glitch is smarter than most people understand, and it's destruction seems impossible since almost everyone refuses to believe in it's existence. Everyone except for Gwen. The only hope for the post and the world is Gwen and a ragtag team of "Army Brats" and one charming boy named Luke to save people from the one thing they can't fight: themselves.
Possible Groupings: Post-Apocalyptic, Teenager Drama, Tragic Backstories, Romantic-ish, Cute Children,
I just thought I'd let you know that this is my first novel on WattPad so I'm kind of a newbie. I thought I'd tell you that before you read my story so if there's some wonky typos or screw ups it's just because I have no clue what I'm doing.
By the way, of course the story is completely fictional, of my own creation. Everything is copyrighted so please don't steal from me. I can honestly say that I don't believe I stole anything from anyone. Honestly don't know how I'll get a cover image without breaking copyright. If you have any ideas or help for me if you see a mistake I'd love it if you'd let me know.
So I hope you like!

Prologue:
Dusk had just fallen on the quiet little suburban area. It was a lazy day, one of which not much had occured other than moving boxes around an empty house. A very lovely woman with long blonde hair and a petite form, sat on her bed, her knees drawn to her chest, listening to the steady thuds of her husband hammering something or another in the laundry room. She was surprised she had stayed awake for as long as she had after the big move. Now, after a day of exhaustion, she wanted a word with the man that she loved, the only reason she was here in the first place.
"Louis?" The blonde woman said from her bedroom.
"Mm?" Her husband said, from the other room between hammer strikes.
"Have you ever thought me living here is a bad idea?" She said tentatively.
The hammering stopped. The beautiful woman heard the thud of the man putting down the hammer. He walked into the room, his dark eyes shining in the light, sweat glistening on his brow.
"And what makes you say that sweetheart?"
"Everything." She said. "I left behind, everything, to be here. It's dangerous and I have that feeling that....being here will certainly cause some crazy thing none of us could ever understand." That makes no sense! she thought nervous. She gulped. "I'm just scared and I don't know why."
Louis smiled and looked down at the floor. "I married a flipping princess didn't I?"
The woman's eyes widened in mild hurt and puzzlement.
He walked over to her and sat on the bed next to her. He gently pulled her fragile body towards him, and kissed her forehead.
"I guess that's why I love you."
She smiled and leaned against his chest in that strange understanding that soulmates have.
He put his head on hers and whispered softly. "You'll be safe here, Cecilia. I'll take care of you, I can promise you that. We an live here, start a family." He left her side and went to one of the boxes they had yet to unpack. He pulled out a small purple book.
"Remember this?" He said, with a goofy grin.
The girl smiled. "It's my Planning Book. I brought it on our first date."
He smiled again. "It scared the chiz out of me. I thought you were some sort of Nazi war general stratigizing world dominion."
"Funny, I thought the same about you Army Brat." She rebounded.
"Shut up." He opened it up and began reading. "Chapter One: My Life Goals."
"Oh gosh, please don't read...."
"Number One: Live in a colonial style mansion in Virginia or if that doesn't work, above a coffeeshop somewhere."
"Louis...."
"Number Two: Finish School."
He grinned again and continued to read.
"Number Three: Get the guy." He raised his eyebrows and looked at her. "Get what guy?"
She lunged over and snatched the book out of his head and banged his head with it. "Moron."
"Double moron."
"Triple moron!"
"With sprinkles on top?"
"Of course!"
He smiled and laid on the bed staring at the ceiling. She laid down next to him. They laid for a moment until they stopped giggling. A silence ensued.
"I'm sorry." He said.
"Sorry about what?" She asked.
"Sorry I crushed your hopes and dreams." He said.
She smacked his arm. "Not true!"
"What do you mean? You're not living in a colonial house or a coffeeshop. You didn't even finish college. I moved you here and now you can't do anything." He said still staring at the ceiling.
"But I got the guy." She said tapping his nose. "So it's worth it."
"So I'M the guy."
"You're the guy."
He looked over at her, their eyes meeting in perfect sychronization.
"Feeling better?" He asked.
"I think so." She said inching closer so her head rested on his chest. He pulled his arm around her again.
"Everything is fine?"
"Everything is fine." She thought.
She closed her eyes and held her breath, so l she could hear was his heartbeat, steady and constant.
Everything is fine. She thought.
Everything is fine.
