"Marry?" Malik asks, a little shocked. He liked Mariam, she was a good woman. kind and gentle but he didn't expect her to say it so soon before he would say it. He thought they were a perfect match. He was going to actually propose to her today. But she beat him to it.

"You are a God fearing man and i like that about you," Mariam said. Mariam was determined to get married to Malik. She knew he was the right choice for her. All her istikharas must have lead up to this moment. And she felt he would be a good husband and an amazing father to their children one day.

"Okay," he said pausing for a moment to think. Mariam seemed to be the one, he thought. He felt like he was beginning to love her. "Well then marriage it is!"

Mariam smiles. Everything seemed to be going right in her life. She was going to marry Malik and soon she was would put the niqab. She was excited.

A few days later, Mariam and Elham meet.

"I decided as well to wear the niqab," Elham says excitidly.

"That's great. Let's go buy our niqabs!" So they went to the closest islamic clothe shop. They bought their niqabs without a second thought. They put their niqabs in the store and went out with them for the first time.

"Sister Mariam, you look great," Elham tells her friend.

"You look great as well, sister Elham," Mariam says giggling. She was so happy. She greeted everyone on the street while passing by.

But one guy started cussing and saying crude things about their niqabs.

"Oh that does it," Mariam says angrily.

She was about to shout back but Elham said, "do not be angry. Do not be angry."

Mariam tried to calm down. She couldn't believe how mean some people could be to those that are different. If it weren't for Elham then Mariam would have lost her temper and yelled back. But she didn't want to do this. She needed to be the better person when it comes to an argument. One must be calm and only speak when what is being said is good. They continued their way back home.

"Wow its not so bad except that one guy. But for everything in life there is good and there is bad. Thank you for calming me down, " mariam said.

"No problem. You need to be careful. You are a muslimah. You are an example to others on your faith. So be a good example."

Mariam nodded. She knew she needed to be a good example. She wished she had the character like the blessed prophet. He was the best of manners and character. He treated everyone with love and respect. Everyone felt they were special to him.

"I better go. Lina and Layla are probably giving mama a hard time. Salam Mariam," elham said and walked away.

Once alone, Mariam called Malik. "I wore the niqab today." She tells him her first experience. The good and the bad.

"I'm so proud of you Mariam. May Allah make you among the righteous and guide you on his straight path. may allah make it easy for you to worship him," he said. Mariam swooned at his words.

"Thank you, Malik."

"You're welcome Mariam. Now i need to go. See you soon." They said their salams and the phone clicked.

mariam was happy. Today went well. It wasnt so bad. She liked the feeling of the niqab on her face and the loose clothes she wore that covered her body shape. It just felt right. And now she had a niqabi sister to share her experiences with. Alhamdoullah, she thought. Allah has guided me to his worship. Alhamdoullah.
