At first, you were annoying
but time passed and I warmed up to you.
I found myself thinking,
Maybe, just maybe, I should change my view.
And time passed once more,
and I realized it was inevitable,
that there was no choice to be made
because feelings are irrepressible.
Despite myself, I began wondering
if there were only two people left on Earth,
could you love me too?
But what is love?
Is that what I feel for you?
Do I deserve your love,
me, who ridiculed you?
•
Me, me, me,
You, you you.
•
These thoughts consume like a wildfire.
My oxygen deprived brain will surely tire
of my feelings that give no heed
to what I truly need.
Be realistic, look at him now.
I waited too long to realize what I wanted.
People look, but they don't see what I see,
for I have always seen and simply denied.
But now you attract their gaze the way you've always attracted mine.
So what I need is to look away,
for I watched the spark grow into a flame,
but now my eyes burn.
Let someone else play with fire.
I must move on.
*A/N: Everyone writes a cliché love poem at least once in their life, right? HAHAHhaaa...
Then again, most people don't write poetry.
