fixing ourselves

V I K T O R I A

I woke up on the bed, the duvets surrounding me as I relentlessly roll and stir around the bed.

I noticed that Ashton wasn't on the bed anymore, so I got up from the bed and walked my way over to the body length mirror that stood beside his dresser.

A messy bun, turquoise pyjama bottoms, a black oversized Nike t-shirt and a grey jacket hung on my body carelessly as I sigh, fixing my hair, putting it again on a preppy and messy bun.

Deciding not to check myself anymore, I went down the stairs, almost tripping, to see Ashton sitting on one of the dining chairs, munching on a waffle.

"Hi," I mumble, rubbing my eyes.

"Hi." He greets, swallowing the last of his waffle.

"Come here," He mumbles, and I sit on his lap.

"I missed you so much, V." He mumbles, intertwining our fingers and leaving pepper kisses all over my neck.

I don't respond, but I just stare at the satin white curtains by the window.

"Why did you do that?" I blurt out, my words suddenly stopping Ashton's actions.

"I was drunk, Viktoria. I was purely intoxicated, I didn't even know what I was doing." He mumbles, his hot breath fanning over my neck.

"Was your proposal just a stunt you did so I can stay?" I ask, fluttering my eyes closed, ready for his answer.

"No. It wasn't a stunt, I really wanted to marry you." He whispers, and then tilts my chin, so I am now facing him. He doesn't say a word, but only stares at me and my eyes like he was memorizing every tad bit being of me.

"Well then, Mr. Irwin, is your offer still available?" I stand up, smiling and tucking out my hand for him.

He doesn't nudge, he just runs quickly upstairs and comes down again swiftly after, his hands behind his back.

He gets down on one knee, and then pulls out the similar ring he had offered me 2 months ago.

"Will you marry me, Viktoria Evans?" He asks, a single tear rolling from his left eye.

"Gladly, Ashton Irwin." I smile, and he chuckles, placing the ring on my left ring finger.

He hugs me tight, kissing me all over the face with light kisses.

"I love you so much, Viktoria." He mumbles, placing a kiss on my lips. After a minute of kissing, it then turns into a heated make-out session.

I pull away instantly, knowing where it will all go.

I still wasn't ready to give my whole again to Ashton, considering the fact that I am now his fianceé and we will be married soon. I was still fixing myself, piece by piece, and I was sure if I did it, I will surely mess things up. We just got back together, but now with a bigger relationship label, but that doesn't mean I'm still not hurt by what he did.

"S-sorry, Ash." I mumble, tucking pieces of stray black hair behind my ear.

"It's fine. I understand. I--we're still fixing ourselves, right?" He mumbles, snaking an arm by my waist, holding me very closely, as if it was his mission on life.

I'm glad Ashton knows and understands where we stand at the moment, whereas most boys, in this situation, will only leave their girls.

I'm very lucky to have Ashton by me, and sure as hell I wasn't going to change anything, even if given the chance.
