A week's time's passed and things have changed. I've started using the guy's locker room, David and I still sit together at lunch but we have Warren, Teagan, Lance, and Jason have started sitting with us. Warren can never sit still for too long so he taps his pencil and bounces his leg under the table or just completely gets up and walks around. Behind his hair, Lance is really cool. He laughs a lot and always has something new to bring to the table. Jason laughs along with Lance and is just a giant dork. Teagan's pretty chill, too, but he's usually quiet. David and I have gotten closer but aren't, like, dating or anything. Even though the guys and I both tease him about how protective over me he is. He doesn't seem to mind, though. He just blushes and hides his face in my shoulder, even though I'm probably two times smaller than he is. I've found out Jason's in my history class but I never really spoke to him. Now, I'm not alone in history. David and I got a thirty minute detention for the whole Tim thing but he got suspended for two weeks for assault so I'm happy with that.

Right now, it's lunch and the table's anything but quiet. Lance's talking about some crazy thing his mom did this morning and everybody's listening intently. I rest my head on David's shoulder and his head drops on mine, our hands clasped under the table. Lance's story dies down and Warren speaks up.

"Hey, Parker?"

Warren's already basically my brother so I'm interested to see where this goes.

"Yes, Warren?"

"Did you know that David has never acted like this towards somebody before? Like, you are the very first to be treated like....like....well, like royalty by the David Quin."

"Is that a good thing or a bad thing, Warren?" I ask with a smirk.

"Well, Parks, that's a good thing because that means he most likely lov-" he stops himself and clears his throat before continuing. "Likes you, at least, and you guys are literally the physical embodiment of adorable so that's a very good thing."

"Well, thank you, Warren, for that information."

I turn my head and look at David, who's bright red and staring the table in front of him. I smile and kiss his cheek, rubbing my thumb along his hand under the table.

"Awww," Warren coos.

"Oh, shut up," David says, throwing his roll at him while laughing. Lance spits chocolate milk everywhere while trying to hold in a laugh.
