The World Without You

20 2 2

My parents are everything to me

Without them who would I be

I always think how amazing they are

Without them I'm just a cookie with no jar

This world is empty without you

Because of you there is nothing I can't do

You're always there for me

Like a flower and a bee

You work hard everyday

Just to provide me a pleasant day

How should I ever repay

The work you do everyday

But there will come a time, we will separate

With great hope that we will see each other again

Thank you for being my parents

I'm grateful for being your son

*This poem was made as an entry to join the Poem Writing Competition for fifth graders with the theme of sharing love among our parents. It was held in 2016 at the Lakeside Montessori School. As a result the poem reached 2nd place. This was my old style of writing poetry.
