This is dedicated to @ravenmas they know who they star as.
We had one day to figure out this guy's 'animal' through mere observation. That was almost as crazy as looking into someone's eyes and knowing everything that was buried deep in their mind.
"So, what are we supposed to do now?" Yoshi, as always, broke the silence between the three of us."Maybe we can brake into his house?"
"Or something less illegal." Sora suggested."We can recall what we already know about him."
"So his name and rank...." Yoshi sighed,"We don't know anything about this guy!"
They both looked towards me, wondering if I had any input. What can we do? We need more imformation that what we already know. Meaning, we needed to know more information, more observations....
"We'll stalk him." I said emotionless.
"What is that supposed to mean?!" Yoshi asked, staring at me as if I was some creep.
"It means we follow him around, observe how he acts, grasp some kind of personality from him, and that'll lead us to his animal." I explained.
"He could be anywhere in Suna by n-." Yoshi said.
"On it." Sora interrupted. The green-eyed boy looked over to his bird, Tori, and nodded. The bird let out a call and flew off.
"What is a raven doing in a desert?" I wondered, looking over at Sora.
"I thought it was a crow." Yoshi said and I shook my head.
"You can tell by the shape of it's tail."
"He's the only raven in my clan." Sora said."Every other bird is from a desert environment."
"Wow! So you must be unique compared to everyone else in your clan!" Yoshi smiled brightly.
"Yeah, I guess you can say that..." Sora said, and I just stared at him. It was like I knew what was going on his head, I knew someone who had the same thoughts.
Sometimes, being unique was not always a good thing.
Soon Tori flew back, landing back onto Sora's shoulder."He's at a dango shop, playing checkers with someone."
Yoshi stared him in awe, mostly noticing that he didn't show any sign of communication with the bird. I let out a sigh,"Let's go then."
********
"We've been watching him play checkers with this Chunin for thrity minutes now." Yoshi complained."Is this really what ninja do on a daily-basis?"
We sat on top of a building in front of the dango shop, looking through the glass window with binoculars."Look more closely, he's doing more then just playing." I told him.
Yoshi bit his lips for a second then deadpanned,"He's losing."
"He's winning."I corrected him."Don't look at what's on the board now, look at what will be on it later."
"So he's making his opponent think that he's winning?"Sora inquired. I nodded. So, beating Kankuro at checkers payed off in some way.
In a few minutes, a victorious Tadashi-Sensei was walking out of the shop. We ducked down, as he left and when he was far away enough we stood back up."Let's go." Yoshi's said.
We began to jump from roof to roof slowly, making sure to not get too close. We ended up stopping at the top of a pharmacy where he talked to some woman, a Jounin. He smiled so brightly when he saw her. They both laughed together, played around as they walk alongside one another.
"Is that his girlfriend?" Sora, tilted his head to the side as he watched them curiously.
"No." Yoshi shook his head, his usual grin plastered onto his face. I furrowed my eyes, looking on as the woman pushed him playfully.
"Wife, then?" Sora tried.
"I don't think so. Not the way he's looking at her."Yoshi said, turning to me. The look in his eyes matched the same look in Tadashi Sensei's eyes when he looked at me.
"Then what is she to him?" Sora questioned him.
"That's his Beehive." Yoshi laughed.
Sora and I traded looks, then looked back at Yoshi."Yeah..." I muttered.
"He's on the move again." Sora said, and we once again were on the move. This time he stopped in the middle of a path and what happened next had us all annoyed.
He took a kunai and stabbed himself. Then, he disappeared into smoke."We've been following a clone the whole time!" Yoshi yelled.
"He knew we were following him this whole time." Sora said."It's not much of a surprise considering he's a Jounin."
"Atleast we have some kind of observations from him." I sighed,"Let's go."
***********
"So have you guys figured out my animal yet?" Tadashi-Sensei asked.
We did have some observations, but it still wasn't enough to be truly sure if our answer was correct. Yoshi scratched his head,"I guess.... You're a deer."
"And how did you come up with that?"He asked us.
"You're aware of the things around you... Even the smallest things." Sora said.
"You have a Beehive!" Yoshi exclaimed, causing Tadashi to become confused."Someone you're kind and gentle to."
"Well...." He began, smiling."You're wrong. Seriously? A deer? C'mon do I look that vulnerable to you guys?"
"You have gotta be kidding me!" Yoshi whined."We stalked you for hours!"
"So what now?"Sora asked him.
"Eh, nothing. Guess now I know what to work on with you guys." He shrugged his shoulders carelessly.
"But you said something bad would happen." Yoshi said.
"Like, Whiskers said. I was bluffing." He stuffed his hands in his pockets. Then he looked over to me,"You didn't tell me what your learned."
I thought for a second, then said,"You're a manipulative jerk."
"I sure am." He winked and poofed away from the scene. He knew I had learned so much more.
It was then that I realized something.
The task he gave us wasn't to observe him. It was to observe eachother. To learn about one another. And I had done that. I knew more about my team, and that made me wonder....
What did they learn about me?
